I'd like to see improvements to Atypon-link and Project MUSE translators, as described here and here, respectively.
-
Well, as it is, groups can't really be interactive because there are no features that allow group members to interact.

The fontstack in the CSS could be improved, I suspect. At work I have one PC where the Zotero website is rendered as in Amanda's screenshot; my laptop however does it OK. It has something to do with Lucida Grande vs. Lucida Sans vs. Lucida Sans Unic…

Odd; why would you use this feature to encode redundant information (the container data is included in the parts)? You know this of course; the 'related' tab gives you a clickable list. Especially for books and chapters this is great (the multiple t…

Unfortunately, EndNote uses a proprietary binary format that cannot simply be imported by other programs. You have to use EndNote to export your library to a readable format. See this thread for helpful suggestions. If you have no way of getting t…

I agree - secondary sorting would be nice. The usual interface for this (used in a couple programs I work with) is click for primary sort, shift-click for secondary sort. I find it very useful.
-
It's a shame really, but I give in. I like interfaces that rethink stuff, but I have to agree that one important constraint on interfaces is the way things are currently done most of the time. So be it.

See http://www.zotero.org/support/requesting_styles In particular, please itemize exactly what the differences are relative to the closest style so that people can help you.

Really? It's just that I think in regular practice, you don't flatten the fields for yourself (you might need them later). So you'll practically always want a copy of your document. If the button would do simply that, it would save a couple of click…

rvd, on the status of Notes, there is this thread, which I think raises the same issue and a possible solution. I wonder what the devs think about making (standalone) notes more like grown-up references.
-
Your notes don't have a date, but they do have a 'date added' (which is their creation date).
-
Rintze's list looks like a good reference point. Anyway, what prompted this topic was how to categorize styles for specific linguistic journals. 'Literature' and 'Anthropology' are distinct fields with distinct journals and styles, while 'Humanities…

I'm not sure whether your description is fully accurate here (has it really 'stopped working' entirely?), but I too have run into some quirks with autocomplete in 2.07. Sometimes when selecting options with the arrow keys, the text would not be inse…

Though on second thought, perhaps it's not such a good idea to hardcode categorization into the CSL files. It certainly makes sense to use the categories for form-specific categorizations, e.g. author-date, numeric, etc., but I'm not sure whether th…

Sorting/filtering later on. Right now the terms are not used, but I'm quite sure the style repository will look different sometime in the future, and that it will involve various sorting options, or perhaps display the terms as tags (since you can h…

Okay, the suggested workaround has been to use the category 'generic' or some such thing. I think it would help adoption of Zotero and CSL in Linguistics if there was a specific category term available. Currently the list as given here contains sist…

Okay, will do. So let me get this right — like this? (Semantics & Pragmatics dependent style)

Shoot, a really minor thing I forgot the first time round: 4a. [Trends in Linguistics 127] 4b. (Trends in Linguistics 127) [square to round brackets] I can do this myself obviously but since you've got the commit capabilities I'm mentioning it.

Thank You. This is perfect, I'm really grateful. The only thing that remains is a typo in the title (Lingusitics > Linguistics). By the way, one thing that they have in their examples is authorless publications sorted in the author sort (i.e. a…

The name I've seen used most is Unified Style Sheet for Linguistics Journals. I haven't come across a definitive list of journals using it, but Language itself (the 'flagship journal' of the discipline, as they say) is definitely one of them (http:…

Beautiful! Only three minor changes would be needed: 1a. (...) Predicting ATR activity, Chicago Linguistic Society 1b. (...) Predicting ATR activity. Chicago Linguistic Society [, after title should be .] 2. [No subsequent author substitute (alway…

Note are may be just another type of attachment from the point of view of technical implementation. But they are very different in that they represent the user produced accompanying content, as opposed to (most) snapshots and PDFs. From that point …

I think selectively expanding only some child items is a confusing idea from a UI point of view.
-
Summarizing, most users posting here would like to see the Notes tab back, but agree with the design decision on the Attachments tab. Also, Combining the 'Tags' and 'Related' panes may be a good idea, depending on how the hierarchical relations int…

Oh, I'm really sorry for the imposition on your time! I guess that shows just how disfluent I am in CSL... It looks like your xml on github got truncated (it stops halfway the citation block). I'll do a detailed X should look like Y comparison if I…

(I have PM-d both you and adamsmith with the question whether you can help me out with this. I get the sense it would really be a matter of minutes for you to whip up the correct CSL. Hope I'm right, but don't mind me if you don't have the time.)
-
See here and here for previous discussions.

Gee, this is way cool. I now realize that I could write my own CSL to output custom bibliographies for the web. With the HTML markup I want. Not that I have the time to do so. And I agree with Bruce that XSLT would be the more correct way to do it.
-
I'm with adamsmith and the others above on the notes point. Hitting + makes for a very cluttered view. I liked having a neat list of titles and simply moving through them while the notes were being shown in the right panel. I've never used that for …

Oh, OK. 'Orphaned from the database' sounded quite alarming. Somehow I pictured a situation in which the citation wouldn't end up in the bibliography or something.
