I agree — the fact that Zotero is not exactly easy with dragging "on hook" as you call it is the main reason I avoid dumping loose files in Zotero. There is definitely room for improvement there.

Open the file in Notepad. Follow these instructions.

Cancel Auto-Renew definitely is better. Even then, a brief description in prose (or a link to an explanation on some other page) wouldn't hurt.
-
Okay — do post back if you've got something. I'm interested.
-
Aha, thanks. Then you should perhaps consider improving that interface. For users who want to stop the automatic renewal but want to sit out the remaining time, "Cancel subscription" is ambiguous. It may mean that my storage is purged right away, wh…

Strange symbols where? In the CSL file?

xml:ang should be xml:lang, for starters.

How about using a collection for this? If you give it a name that starts with a unicode character that is sorted before [a-Z], it will be at the top of your list. You'd have to add the destination entry to the same collection to get them close toget…

Eric, this sounds interesting. I have considered serving COinS for a project too, but was disappointed to learn that it doesn't handle edited volumes. Have you been able to work around this? Have you seen the unAPI plugin for WordPress? That may pr…

Right — extending the effect of CTRL+selection to tags seems like a very good idea to me; nice extension of an existing piece of interface logic.
-
I like #1 — would be an easy and intuitive way to add tags to references. Why not have it both ways? Drag one onto the other = associate them. As for #2, if you do a search you'll see that some people actually like the full tag name to be displayed…

For the benefit of everyone interested, let me note that I heard back from Sean Takats, who emailed me the following response: We're always looking into ways to expand our storage offerings, and we'll take your suggestion under advisement. I'll let …

I'm not sure, but I imagine that such a huge number of tags might slow down Zotero. And are your ever going to use more than, say, 100 of them? It would seem to me that the trouble of keying in terms as they become relevant far outweighs the trouble…

I did send an e-mail to storage@digitalscholar.org along with posting here five days ago, and have heard nothing back yet. (To be clear, I posted here, too, because I think the issue is of potential interest to more people than just me.)
-
Any response on this?
-
The current version is not yet made compatible (and shouldn't be expected to — the FF version you are trying to use it on is a beta for a reason), the trunk is. /edit: that's three replies all within one minute!

Cool! Very much looking forward to it.

@renacentista, this is not something that can be easily explained. Please Google for "word footnote formatting" and find yourself some tutorials that explain this. Even the Word Help function (F1) will be of help.
-
Totally agree with this! I also have this more often than I like (though fortunately not with many items at once), and it is very painful dragging all the way up again. Sometimes something clever can be done by sorting by date added or using esoteri…

+1 — of the biggest missing features when using Zotero seriously to cite stuff.

@isis: and you emptied the Zotero trash folder?
-
In my experience it doesn't work that well. Takes a long time to load in my 5000 item library and generates loads of false positives, including different chapters from books and articles with relatively similar titles but different authors. A very s…

Right, you nailed it. Exporting and importing does not maintain identity of the underlying database. In particular, the internal identifiers that the word plugin uses to link citations to your database are not the same anymore when you export and im…

Has this been tested by others on WinXP?
-
Is it really not the default? I would agree that it makes eminent sense to make it so.
-
I think something like this is too dependent on your particular workflow to work as a general solution. Sorting of multiple tags would also be an issue in such a column.

Proquest definitely has the best metadata for theses. I know no better alternative. I don't know what Proquest looks like when not on a university network, but can't you get to the metadata at least? If that doesn't work and you can't get onto Proqu…

I like migugg's proposals too. Marking of dev/power-user posts would not be enough as long as these posts are buried deep inside threads — what really would help is a summary of the status of the issue (including links to trac tickets) upfront. I'm …

Developers can fail to comment in a brainstorm voting platform just as much as they can fail to comment in a forum just as much as they can fail to fully use an issue tracker. Sure. As I mentioned, though, it's not necessarily the devs that should c…
