I'm on Windows XP, FF 3.6.3. I can reproduce it as follows: 1. Click on the little downward pointing triangle left of the search input field (the "arrow"). The dropdown appears. 2. Now click in the search input field. The dropdown menu disappears b…

Of the Chicago styles, one of the Note with Bib styles could go I guess. Also, AAA is an interesting style, but I wonder if it is really so commonly used as to warrant inclusion in this list.

Great, thanks for the progress. I will try the hidden pref and see how it works. Re: 6, I can reliably reproduce in in FF3.6.3 & Windows XP, but I can't take a screenshot because that doesn't show the cursor. Anyway, maybe it's only an issue in…

Re: 9, I would like to try what always on top feels like. It may feel too agressive; on the other hand, I really lose focus on the QF bar very easily right now and I imagine that must hold for very many users. (Anybody who can confirm or disconfirm …

I freely admit to being clueless and ill informed. Any pointers to a document with clear use cases that shows how I can easily (1) generate such data (as I can generate COinS with Zotero) and (2) include it in web pages (as I can by copy-pasting COi…

13. The possibility to click and thereby determine the point at which new refs are added should be generalized. In particular, it should be possible to click before the leftmost citation and add one before it. 14. More in general, one reason the Q…

And since it actually has seen quite wide adoption (with Zotero and Mendeley support, WordPress plugins, etc.) wouldn't it make sense to fix it up? Or would it be too much work to really make it satisfactory? In which case, is there an alternative t…

11. QF should not fail silently when it fails to parse. I was typing "Jones 2002:19" meaning "Jones 2002 p. 19" but apparently QF does not know that syntax and therefore just disappeared without leaving a citation when I hit enter. 12. (Related to …

10. When editing a multiple sources citation, the QF bar does not expand to show all sources and also lacks an indication that some sources are not shown (only the first five of eight total are shown). When trying to move to the right using the Righ…

It's a damn shame that this is the fate of what could have been an easy and well documented way to share bibliographic metadata. I know that unapi and rdf and whatnot exist, but COinS is still one of the easiest ways to embed bibliographic metadata …

Great, that's what I was looking for. I now remember I added that about:config option in Z2.1.8 but it probably got overwritten when I updated to Z3.1beta. Having set extensions.zotero.httpServer.enabled to true, the Chrome connector reports that "Z…

+1 Fully agree. Being able to arrange saved searches would be a major help.

Never followed this up. COinS does have rft.au (This data element contains the full name of a single author, i. e. "Smith, Fred M", "Harry S. Truman".) and rft.aucorp (Organization or corporation that is the author or creator of the book, i.e. "Mel…

Thanks. That's what I thought. It is unfortunate that the possibilities are so limited at present. By the way, do you know where to go with the issue that COinS doesn't have the creator type "Editor"? It would be such a trivial thing to implement, …

Ah - as I mentioned (not terribly directly though), I don't work with standalone but with Zotero in Firefox, and I noticed it going through the web API. So the lack of uploading facility is the cause. I liked the flexibility of using connectors with…

So would it be possible, before 3.0 is released, to get "tags" added as one of the excludable data types when copying items between libraries? (The first pass of my proposal above.) I was hoping this would be relatively trivial to do.
-
+1. There are some threads about this elsewhere too but I couldn't find them.
-
Ah, I forgot about that part. We can probably do something there. Really hope so! That is one of the main reasons that large documents are painful to work with.

Doesn't this speed to an important extent depend on the number of citations and the existence of a bibliography in the document? In my experience loading the classic view dialog is much faster in new or small documents than in a huge document citing…

By the way, the focus issue with classic view I reported in #9 is directly related to this report by mronkko. If the quickformat bar / classic view would be displayed instantaneously, the problem would disappear. I think the issue is that (1) it tak…

I like the evolution of ideas here. I think being able to choose a "preferred library" for use in a document is a better approach than "enabling/disabling" libraries. Also agree with Bruce that "requiring group libraries to do collaboration" is not…

Thank you! Love it!

But why would you want to identify papers by their number of pages? Or do you mean by their page numbers? (That is becoming increasinly irrelevant BTW as the publishing world moves to a DOI- rather than a page-based model for identifiers.)
-
(Gentle bump. I'd like to find out if the devs agree, too. A similar problem was present in the Word plugin, where it will be fixed. To my mind the behaviour should be consistent between the word plugin and the quicksearch in Zotero.)

6. When dragging items, the cursor immediately changes to a no-drop sign even while hovering over the quickformat bar. (On Windows XP at least.) 7. Despite #6 moving items by dragging works well, but somehow left to right is easier than right to le…

(I'm on Windows XP/7) Re 3: I would prefer a simple keyboard action. I now see however that I can move between items with left and right arrows and that Backspace as well as Delete work. I think I can get used to that. Keeping the panel coming up …

Yup, never saw that option. I think many automatically save PDFs to some folder.

I recognise this problem. Sync on close would also be annoying though, as you often close when you, well, really want to close and don't wait to wait for a sync to complete. A solution might be to not sync immediately when notes are added, but only…

No you're quite right. If you can set the base folder in every instance of Zotero, your wildcard covers that case too.

For reference, libraries of up to 10.000 items are not really slow in my experience.
