@adamsmith, I want the search to find 1 and 2, and not find 3 and 4.
-
Hi @bwiernik, re: the 2nd one, if I set the search to match "all", then won't I get matches with "clock" in both the Title and Publication? I want to find items with "clock" in the Title whether or not "clock" is in the Publication.

In Zotero Preference | Cite | Word Processors, did you check that the Microsoft Word add-in is installed? Did you try to reinstall it using that button? In MS Word | Options | Add-ins, do you see Zotero listed in the Active Application Add-ins?
-
OK, thanks.
-
Umm...sorry, still confused @bwiernik . Your first line says "Publication" "does not contain" and the second line says "Publication" "contains"... And if the match is "any", won't the 2nd line search also match items without "clock" in the title, b…

I'm confused by @bwiernik 's suggestion. Where do I put the search term I want to find if I leave the boxes blank? Say I want all item titles with "clock", whether or not the publication title has "clock". But I don't want item titles without "cloc…

I'm asking based on an editor's comment, actually.

In advanced search, I see "Title", "Series Title," and "Short Title," but not "Book Title" or "Proceedings Title". I'm on Zotero 5.0.60. Am I missing something?
-
That was the problem - I had failed to change the ID. Thanks.

I'm trying to resolve the same issue and with propachi-vanilla-1.1.131 and updating chicago-author-date.csl using the style in @fbennett 's link (ChicagoAfterCollapse), it is not working. What I did was copy/paste the csl section from ChicagoAfterCo…

Thanks for posting the xpi - I wouldn't have been able to try this otherwise! If someone has this working, I don't quite understand how to "edit all things in text mode" - are you editing in a text editor, converting to html, and then copy/pasting …

> A workaround is to use a saved search for Collection and use "Include parent and child items of matching items", and then either do a quick search on that or use it as a parent "collection" Unfortunately, I can't use quick search because I nee…

Me and probably other partially color-blind users would also like the ability to pick a wider range of colors -- many of the existing ones look the same to me.
-
Since I didn't receive any ideas, I spent a several hours and found the problem. Just posting for others who might come across this. For some reason, the zotero.exe file was checked to 'run as administrator'. You can check in 'properties | compatib…

@damnation, you can remove this request. The journal is changing style to standard Chicago. Thanks.
-
Hi, will someone look at this Debug ID? Thanks.
-
Sorry, I did misunderstand. If you have so many collections that you can't very easily find the one you want, have you considered using tags rather than collections to mark groups of items?
-
Yes, I meant if you have collections "United Kingdom" and "United States" and change them to "United.Kingdom" and "United.States", then typing "United.S" will select "United.States".
-
Thanks. FYI for others, 'Copy select item links' selects items in Zotero standalone, and 'Copy Zotero URIs' gives you a URL that takes you to the item on the Zotero web site.
-
I see. I guess it works for me since I'm on Windows and show file extensions, so the filename has a ".pdf" extension, and my attachment items match the attachment filenames.
-
This should work: Item Type is Book Title does not contain pdf check include parent and child items of matching items

Hi, @danstillman, you suggested that I post again in this thread if I thought my post was overlooked. You'll see I did that and waited fairly patiently. Sorry for the duplicate thread. Can you or someone else help? I am also continuing to have di…

My testing suggests that you can solve this problem by using '.' between the words in the collection names rather than a space.
-
@Peter100 and @marsh - I'm using Zotero with FreePlane (on Windows) and the integration works pretty well for me, although it requires a workaround. Basically, I highlight pdfs, use Zotfile to extract annotations, and the extracted annotations in Z…

My suggestion: re-install the Word plug-in, reboot the computer, and make sure Zotero standalone is running while you are trying to insert the citation.
-
I think I get it now. The documentation is confusing about file names/items. You seem to be saying that if I drag-and-drop a file from another window into the middle pane, that what I see created is an 'attachment item', and that is different than t…

No response for a week...any ideas on this?
-
Fixed. Just in case anyone else has this problem, I created a new citation with the same authors and it sorted correctly this time. Deleted the old one.
-
Sorry to be a pest, but I haven't seen a response for 4 days, which seems unusual on these forums for debugging. Any help?

Notes are handled by software Zotero uses called TinyMCE, so most requests for changes in notes are not taken up here.
