Heard back and they said: "...and I'm following up to assist further with troubleshooting the issue with using Zotero. As you noted, you're experiencing time-outs when exporting articles from EBSCO to Zotero. I reviewed your account settings in EBSC…

BTW, I have opened a ticket with EBSCO support. They are investigating. We don't use EZProxy, we use SSO via Shibboleth for authentication.
-
BTW, this is from onsite and the linked article, and every other article in my search results, continues to act the same way. Could there be a way for the translator to close after the error message? Right now it hangs there and I have to close …

Lol, that I wasn't. Of course it does beg the question of what that menu item does then? Thanks

Seems like there has been a lot of interest in this for more than a decade. I know I wish it was available at some point every project I work on. Is it at least on a roadmap?

Opening the pdf does work in a new tab in the same browser. Using the same url in a different browser doesn't. Trying to add with Zotero from that new tab still fails.

ok, here's the ID: D1240237067 URL is: http://web.a.ebscohost.com.ezproxy2.library.drexel.edu/ehost/detail/detail?vid=3&sid=18823dd9-9f12-404c-a79e-1b670301fca1@sdc-v-sessmgr06&bdata=JnNpdGU9ZWhvc3QtbGl2ZQ==#AN=EJ1185127&db=eric

Here's one from EBSCO's version of ERIC. Manual PDF download works, Zotero's pdf grab doesn't. http://ezproxy2.library.drexel.edu/login?url=http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=eric&AN=EJ1185127&site=ehost-live

yes, the manual download works fine. It does open first into the pdf viewer page but you can download from there. I'll see if I can find an example from another EBSCO database to try too.
-
Yes, I think it worked until until sometime last week, or at least we hadn't noticed any problems (and none had been reported to us) until one of our librarians was showing a student how she could use Zotero, and the articles they were looking at di…

Sorry, That last number was from standalone, not the browser, but I guess was a report ID not a debug ID. Having Report Errors and Debug Output Options right next to each other in the menu may have confused me. Here's the Debug ID: D200493478

Thanks. Here's the Zotero Report ID: 1255673740

Our Summon over Alma service is now live. For individual book records you get the Alma Services Page and Zotero tries to use the Primo 2018 translator but fails. Debug Report ID: 1734284673 while trying to save to zotero from this book: https://dr…

Thanks. The Dartmouth version looks a lot better.

Has anyone else had this issue or gets different results when trying from these links?
-
Yes, I think that was it! That certainly wouldn't be what I would expect to happen. Thanks!
-
Thanks for considering this. In the meantime I'll play with a custom csl and see how close that will get me. Larry

The wordpress forum for zotpress isn't letting me log in at the moment so I'll ask here instead: First off, thank you for creating this plugin! I'd like to be able to use CSS to alter the appearance of zotpress citations. Could there be a way t…

Then, as far as I can tell the new translator works well. Thanks Avram!
-
That seems to be working fine now. Should it be collecting the document URL too? May or may not be a problem as I don't know if it is meant to collect it. I've tried a copy of articles and didn't see URLs in the zotero info.
-
Thanks Avram! The updated translator now works with my example URLs, including the multiple import from the result set. The only problem I'm seeing now is that this one from above :http://search.proquest.com/docview/840433348?accountid=10559 is im…

Some troubleshooting issues. I'm seeing that some individual items bring up the address bar zotero icon but others don't. And I can't quite figure out how the two are different. In browsing a publication, I don't see the icon http://search.proque…

If your Zotero is set (as is the default I believe) to intercept RIS downloads, then choosing "Export" and then "Export directly to Endnote" should work without the extra steps. Btw, during the development of the interface I repeatedly asked ProQue…

Ajlyon, there is a list here: http://www.proquest.com/en-US/promos/platform/databases_supported.shtml of databases that could be switched over if UCLA chooses. If they haven't done it yet, maybe talk to your liaison librarian because they probably …

Thanks Ajlyon! Not every institution has made the switch yet, and there are still some ProQuest/CSA/CH databases that haven't been made available on the new platform yet. Once a db is ready it will be up to the institutions as to when they move to…

Ajlyon, LLBA is one of the CSA databases that has moved over to the new ProQuest interface, and for UNC at least, they have switched over their access to the new platform. I suspect that Duke has as well

In case a URL that Zotero doesn't recognize would help: http://search.proquest.com/pqrl/docview/840967601/12D8BB89B2D385E7F96/1?accountid=10559 I'm using Zotero 2.0.9 on FF3.6.13 on a Mac running 10.6.6. Often after things like this are reported I…

For a list of ProQuest/CSA-Illumina/Chadwyck-Healey databases that either have moved over to the new interface or will begin moving over this month, see: http://www.proquest.com/en-US/promos/platform/databases_supported.shtml

From a librarian's perspective, the biggest issue in pitching Zotero to undergrads is that they are far more likely than faculty or grad students to rely on using multiple lab computers when they are doing research or writing. Even many students wh…

We have had the same problem with library.drexel.edu being added to the list of associated sites. It hasn't happened often but causes some users to go through our EZProxy server to get to the library's homepage, which should not require authenticat…
