I am also wishing for the ability to turn off this highlight color popup menu when selecting text. It is distracting and it blocks other text until I click out. I made a new discussion about the feature request before being directed to this thread. …

Thank you warwickmm. I had not come across that other Discussion, despite my searches. It is pretty much the same issue. I will add a comment there.

Following up--Right now, I am unable to reproduce the problem and it seems that the oldest Date Added of a library item is indeed being preserved under a merge, even when the "master item" chosen is the newer library addition. That is the desired be…

@adamsmith , thanks for pointing that out. That does seem to be a workaround to accomplish what I'm going for. It would still be great if "Date added" were one of these so that I could just carry that single field over from the old entry, instead of…

@adomasven Thank you for the tip! The problem does appear to be with my Firefox account profile. I found that if I completely removed Firefox and all setting files and then reinstalled Firefox, then Zotero connector worked properly up until I logge…

@dstillman @adamsmith What can I do next to troubleshoot what is happening with Firefox specifically? I generally do not use Chrome and am hoping to avoid alternating between browsers for the singular purpose of getting the Zotero connector to work.

Ok, here is the Debug ID resulting from a refresh and then clicking the save button. D1288543495

side note: The "Date Modified" in Zotero doesn't get modified even when the local PDF file changes get synced (which is sensible).

Ok, the syncing may be working now. I'm not sure what made things work (it is possible I wasn't waiting long enough for all the changes to propagate) but now I can download files from online that have my annotations. One thing I did since making my…

As far as I can tell, they are. The changed timestamp suggested the PDF itself is being modified. Also, I just sent a copy of the local file to myself with Gmail and the Gmail preview of the PDF has annotations.
