the only export format that imports entirely is Zotero RDF.Even this imports with subtle differences, which is why you are encouraged not to rely on it for backups. You commented on some such differences, yourself. Many of the issues with MODS XML…

I believe that messages should go to std.err. by default. What I would do is:Close OO.o'mkdir ~/oo.old && mv ~/.openoffice.org ~/oo.old'launch 'oowriter' from the command line & try to install the extension.(You can also try to use 'uno…

As above, their export is broken enough that it does not allow other EndNote users to import data. Complaints about defects in the export format are perfectly valid & proper export is needed for more than just a migration to a particular compet…

I have installed the extension successfully under a similar platform (because OO.o 3 is not yet in Intrepid's default repository, it isn't clear which package you are using). I don't think it is a platform issue. The plugin should be able to b…

I believe that you gave the version of Firefox & not of Zotero. Read: http://www.zotero.org/documentation/microsoft_word_integration#using_the_plugin In Word, at the end of the zotero toolbar, there is an icon that looks like a gear with a 'z…

I can't answer the question of conditionals immediately, but maybe I can address what you are trying to do: That is: use a "delimiter," which accurately describes the slash's function more than than a prefix or a suffix does.

I am trying to develop a new NP405 style to work with ZoteroThat's good & I think that is still a good plan. Note that support for using EndNote .ens style files has been re-enabled in the sync preview version. The legal questions are between …

RDF import/export does not preserve item IDs. If you used the recommended backup method (keeping a full copy of your zotero data directory), restore that. If you only have the RDF, you'll have to replace citations in that Word file.

The first error states there are disk i/o problems. Do you have sufficient free space & have you checked that disk (after backing up your data to a known disk, you can use fsck & smartmontools)? If you have disk issues, that may explain th…

if a coder could point me to the correct file to get started with. https://www.zotero.org/trac/browser/extension/trunk/chrome/content/zotero/xpcom/csl.js

My comments & the link in: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/1397/ apply. cb2bib may be your best bet.

bougau: I think that you may find that EndNote will fail to import many of those files in a way that is completely satisfactory. I know that this used to be the case & fundamental limitations of the file formats that Dan alluded to either means…

I'm not a Zotero developer, but the Zotero server is under active development. Recommendations have been touted as a planned feature & a recommendation system may benefit similarly from a large data pool. There have been no announced plans for…

What citation style, what is the reference information you are feeding it, and what output are you expecting?

Should the "insert/edit image" button be added to TinyMCE to make this easier for users?

Ideas for more intelligent parsing of PDFs have been brought up before. A regex search for identifiers (PMID, arXiv, DOI, etc.) would be useful. For recognition of titles, etc., a search against a large pool of data (as the Zotero server may one d…

Not yet in 1.0, but you can add such images as attachments. EDIT: Per below, possible in sync (I had tried it, but had a typo in my img tag)

I think that this has been discussed before. You can use the call number field instead. Is the record number in your exported file?

Please search for more information, but here is a summary: The Zotero sync server is on the internet, currently hosted by GMU. It uses your Zotero forums username and password, and there is no choice for alternative AUTH. There are no plans t…

Zotero is a tool & multiple workflows are valid. I would much prefer using tags or folders to accomplish this, but it is a personal choice.

The comments in that thread apply: Firefox does not presently have native support for PDF & third-party PDF viewers do not have good APIs for Zotero to use. Until one of these two things changes, Zotero's ability to manipulate PDFs will be …

You have to validate against the (compact) RelaxNG schema. I don't think the tools you mentioned are able to do that. I used RNV. The commercial oXygen XML editor is quite good or you can use emacs nXml mode.

Your style does not seem to validate.

No, Zotero can not currently import useful data from ODF. A related request is: https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1102

Interesting - why is this not installed as a default? I would have never guessed I need to do that.It uses platform-dependent binaries that are distributed under a different license.

I believe you can have Macintosh python installed side-by-side with fink python. Is there a reason not to do this & to then use the Mac-supplied version of python?

I don't 10.5.5 yet, but that path looks correct to me. Is appscript in that directory? appscript should ship with Leopard, but you should also be able to do: sudo easy_install appscript

That's promising. What version of OS X & what is the output of: python -c "from distutils.sysconfig import get_python_lib; print get_python_lib()"
