BBT also supports the "Editor: Last || First A." format BTW. Adding more flexible author fields will be a bit of work though.
-
That format is much better, and easier to parse too. Main issue right now is that it'd need a marker that it is a author-type line. "Editor" has a fixed meaning, but "疏: Last || First A." does not.
-
No, that doesn't currently work. It would have to be implemented in BBT. It's not a trivial change either, so I'd really want to know how Zotero intends to approach this first. Of course just about anything can be done in a postscript, even the bra…
-
It's not strictly required, but if citeproc is on board Zotero is likely to be on board and I have a standard behavior I could follow. Zotero could get on board without citeproc, but the possibilities would be limited, and in my experience Zotero es…

I'm OK with a method like that, but I'd much prefer something that makes it explicit what metadata is being hidden there, something like "[authortype=疏]" in the firstname field, which would then (I assume) mean "treat lastname as single-part name, …

It's possible to generate an authortype field using BBT (either by using the custom fields syntax or a postscript), but the source data doesn't have enough information to generate it. It's easy enough to change the editoratype in a postscript, but u…

One possibility is that you synced before installing BBT. On install, BBT will generate new keys for existing items with the default pattern; changing the pattern afterward doesn't automatically update the existing keys. Settings sync used to preve…

That's what the bibtex[...] syntax (or any of its variants) is for.
-
With BBT, useprefix is only added if there's a non-dropping particle. Adding it to the firstname field would make BBT not produce the useprefix option.
-
I can't readily tell from the description what has gone wrong, but if you open two new issues (one for each laptop please, they don't share config) on https://github.com/retorquere/zotero-better-bibtex/issues I'd be happy to take a look.

I commonly used the in-browser zotero to add notes to existing refs based on a page I was browsing, or to do a quick check before importing a new ref. I'm aware of the efficient ways of switching apps, but none of them worked as well for me as in-br…

It's easy enough but nothing like the quick click I could do without having to deal with switching between apps (I usually have a ton open). I realize it's not coming back, but I really preferred it over standalone. That said, it's time to get over …

It wasn't related to the sync, high CPU use was there throughout. I initiated a manual sync to see whether the logging worked as nothing was being added to the log during the high-CPU episode otherwise.

Is it possible to select multiple items with one url?
-
That's simple to fix (even if I thought that BBT format was supposed to work). If you could head over to https://github.com/retorquere/zotero-better-bibtex/issues we could work it out.

I'm currently (occasionally, I can't reproduce at will) seeing something similar. From the debug log (D1780424802) it doesn't seem to be doing much but top shows zotero-bin taking approx 150% (so a core and a half) and the laptop fan revved up. A re…

1. I don't think so, just not the directories Zotero uses itself 2. This should work just fine 3. No.

sweet, thanks

How do I set the default reader in Zotero 5 without changing the system default?
-
BTW I can open the PDF without issue if I do show-file, double-click. It's just that from within Zotero, the double-click gives me this error.
-
Love that video. Do this, do that, doesn't mathuuur :) doesn't describe cayw though.

My links look like zotero://select/items/${id}, where ${id} is either the item key (for local library) or groupID_key (for group libraries)
-
I think I've updated somewhere along the line, but if @moritz_heber says they don't work, I've probably done something wrong
-
If BBT is indeed causing this (wouldn't be a first), I'd appreciate hearing about it here: https://github.com/retorquere/zotero-better-bibtex/issues
-
What is the difference between the BBT-generated links and the Zutilo-generated links?
-
The makers of scrivener (literature & latte) do not provide a way for tools like Zotero (or mendeley, or...) to integrate. As soon as they would, it'd probably get done. The makers of word & libreoffice have provided ways to integrate other …

Technically, I monkey-patch Zotero.Translate.Export.prototype.translate to inspect what is being exported, and put it in my auto-export administration if I can find something that I can use to reproduce the export. For a library export, I can remem…

The only time I've seen it was with word, unfortunately timed as I had meant to extol the virtues of reference management to new students, but instead struggled seeing clicks of the "insert citation" button doing seemingly nothing. I've not seen it …

Let me see what could be done using BBT (better bibtex)... Group 1: export as usual Group 2: what kind of formatting are we looking at? LaTeX-ification? Transliteration? BBT should be able to do either. Anything remaining could be done with a post…

It can't be done without zotero changes, and those changes will likely come in the form of support for a zotero-native citekey field, which will solve the problem altogether.
