I just installed and tested it. I am pleased to report to the community that Zotero-file is working beautifully. It renamed and moved my file to the right directory.
-
Wow @pologon, that was we all hoping for. I hope it is all working. Has anybody in this forum tried zotero-file please? I want to try Zotero 7 because I have been stuck to 6 because of Zotfile. (I use it to move and rename; nothing fancy).

The underlying code modernised; Internal Pdf reader with amazing annotations capabilities; with hundreds of translator (scrappers) from the web; Betterbibtex almost ready to be released; . . . Zotero is about to be the most potent reference manag…

Is there any progress on this feature? It would really be helpful to be able to write metadata to the pdf from within Zotero. I am currently exporting my references to Jabref just todo the embedding.

Delitem addons is amazing. It has made a huge difference on my work flow. It would be nice if sb adds it to the official list of addons so that other users will find it as well.
-
OK; I find a solution for this. Turns out using "Any field" works to search specific phrases on the file names. This is great.
-
Thank you for the fast reply dear dstillman. I think I will wait until this feature is rolled out because I want to update a very large number of references.

I am having the same issue. It would be have been great if the Advanced Search can search for file names. I want to filter references with attachments containing the word [Ling]. But, I am out of luck as well. I know how to do this in Bookends.…

Zotfile: Dropbox: Dropsync: You can use Zotfile to store your pdf files in a Dropbox folder or some other cloud folder. You can then annotate them in your android phone using Acrobat reader or something else. If you use apps such as Dropsync on An…

@tim820: thank you. Deleting attachments twice has been extremely painful process to me. Thank you for the note.
-
That will be great. Thank you.
-
This is impressive. I never expected this to happen.
-
Dear @damnation, thank you for the instant reply. Yes, I am using the Extra field for now. But, the problem is, the pdf resolvers in Zotero cannot use that field. The Doi needs to be inside the DOI field for the resolvers to work.
-
this is amazing; much better than the quicklook feature we have in the mac. thank you dear @hsiangyu_wong

Thus far they have kept the option to open it in an external application, I am not going to be unhappy about the internal reader. People who like it will use it. For me, I open it in the default reader because I like embedding my notes into the pdf.
-
>a document reader is a bad decision! NO; If you read this forum, a pdf reader was one of the most requested features. It was also one of the most common criticism of the app. I think including a reader is one of the most important achievements…

>dstillman >8 days ago edited 8 days ago >Zotero preferences → General → "Open PDFs using", same as before Thank you for keeping that option available to us.
-
Well, the ios version is then useless for me.
-
@dstillman: this bug still persists in the latest beta.
-
Oh, well. In that case, it won't be useful for me. Dear @bwiernik, do you know any other means to filter references that contain long pdf files (over 100 pages).
-
@dstillman: ok, thank u
-
The bug still persists in 5.0.97-beta.43+c5d89f6d0. Is it better to report it in Github ?
-
NO, I am not worried about citations because I don't use Zotero for citations. I am worried about the pdf attachments.
-
Nice; I came to report the issue and find sb reported it first. I am having the same problem (I am on : 5.0.97-beta.41+aa7f5289a)

+1

I was also thinking to do the same. But, won't the references lose their link to the attachments, if I export and re-import them?

"Orphan" is the term used in the Bookends system to this kinds of files. This is very useful script. Thank u I have a question: can this be used with Zotfile where the files are linked to a dropbox folder?
