Rights/Authorisation is a good field here to use because it is rarely used otherwise. If you export to CSV, you can open that in any spreadsheet program like Excel and sum up the Rights column.

The CSL citation style language type for this is “article”. Zotero will add a preprint/working paper type in a future version. For now, you can tell Zotero to cite an item as a preprint by entering this in the Extra field: Type: article

(I’m not affiliated with Zotero, just passing along information.) All of that information is sent directly to the payment processor, none of it is transmitted to or stored on Zotero servers. Zotero takes your privacy extremely seriously. https://…

Yes, feel free to attach all of the relevant files to one Zotero item. I’ll often include the preprint version, the published version, and supplemental files attached to one item. You can set the title shown in the Zotero window by selecting the att…

The menu labeled “Help” at the top of the Zotero window on Windows or the top of your screen on Mac.

Is this a change in the faculty requirements or just a personal preference? (Feel free to write in German if you prefer)

What you are describing is a fundamentally different program than what Zotero is (which is an SQLite database and interface). A complete rewrite of Zotero to use a completely different database design isn’t going to happen. Zotero can used entirel…

@rchernick this is the most commonly misunderstood rule in APA style in my experience, so you’re far from the only one to miss it.
-
Feel free to post to the CSL Discourse. In particular, we’d want to know what the use case would be here.
-
I was referring to if you were using Zotero’s word processor plugin. Sorry, wasn’t thinking that you are obviously writing in LaTeX.
-
Write your chapters in separate documents. Then, before combining them, click the Unlink Citations button in each document to disconnect it from Zotero.
-
You need to add multiple items to one citation in the Add/Edit Citation popup. See https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage#citations_with_multiple_cited_items
-
Though you should change the item data in your library to store the title in sentence case instead of title case. Right click on the title and choose sentence case.
-
That’s correct 7th edition. You can tell because there is no publisher place for the book.
-
To be frank, your adviser is advising a style that is very rare among social science journals and explicitly against the guidance of APA, the most widely used social science style guide. I would suggest asking them to follow the standard style of si…

The grey shading doesn’t print or show up in PDFs. It is only visible on the editable word files, the same as a Table of Contents or automatic Page Numbers.
-
It sounds like you have the Google Scholar Citations plugin installed. Disable or remove that if you don’t want it (it can also be resource-intensive, so you should disable it if you aren’t using it)
-
It will treat undeclared entries as the language of your bibliography in your document. But in general I recommend the habit of always declaring the language of your items in your library.
-
The Springer style guide doesn’t give specific guidance on sorting of the bibliography, other than to say that the style generally follows the conventions of APA style. APA style does not distinguish between 2-author and more-than-2-author items in …

@lbga Note that the formatting for uncertain dates changed in APA 7. They are now indicated by including "ca." rather than by using square brackets [ ]. Square brackets are no longer used with dates in APA style. @kberntse You have several things g…

Zotero/CSL and BibTeX have different conventions for storing titles. BibTeX expects titles to be stored in Title Case. It will lowercase letters as needed and expects letters that should always be uppercase (eg, proper nouns in English) to be escape…

Check out https://anystyle.IO for a tool to parse the formatted references

Can you export one item with an attachment in BibTeX, RIS, and JSON, copy the contents to hastebin.com or similar, and link here?
-
In the Zotero tab, click the Document preferences button
-
If you don’t see a Zotero tab in your Word, see https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#zotero_toolbar_doesn_t_appear
-
See what the tab looks like here https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage
-
That’s the built-in Word bibliography feature. You need to select the style in the Zotero tab in Word. The label on the tab is Zotero.
-
I’m not sure what you mean. Can you give more details, such as the things asked for on the page linked above?
-
And just in case, you select the style from the Document Preferences window in the Zotero tab in Word.
