@emilianoeheyns Does BBT automatically generate journal abbreviations?
-
It doesn’t come from the PDF. See https://www.zotero.org/support/retrieve_pdf_metadata
-
Are you using the BetterBibTeX plugin?
-
Still: https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage#customizing_cites Author (Date) citations are part of CSL 1.1 which will be Incorporated into Zotero in a future version
-
You can enter those into Extra (one on each line) or as tags, then export the items to CSV format.
-
APA style only adds a, b, c, etc. when the whole author groups are the same. When the second or later authors differ, extra names are added to disambiguate first. Zotero is producing correct APA style.
-
The CSL 1.0.2 field for that is available-date (if distinct from the date of record)
-
All 3 of those items perfectly reproduce the examples from the APA manual (items 88b, 90b, 90c). The APA manual calls for screen names only when they are very different from the author name, hence why I didn’t enter them for TED or Oxford. You could…

I would recommend using tags for that. It’s helpful to think about collections as being for hierarchical relationships and tags being for non-hierarchical relationships.
-
That doesn’t sound right. How big of a library are you talking about? And how large are your other libraries in your database? Can you go to the Advanced pane in Zotero preferences and click the Check Database Integrity button?
-
None that I’m aware of, but perhaps the team behind this plugin could do something with it if you contacted them https://byrdlab.sites.ucsc.edu/2015/05/03/zotnet-a-tool-for-zotero/
-
If you enter “he” in the item’s language field, that will disable an title casing for the item, no need to edit the style.
-
Can you also take a screenshot of the item in your Zotero library, upload to Dropbox or similar, and link here?
-
You can Indicate that you are citing a chapter of a report or manual by adding the container title to Extra like this: Container title: Title of the report
-
Look at lines 1324-1325, you can see there that it is checking if position="ibid-with-locator". Then later on it check for position="ibid", then position="subsequent", then otherwise. You can see in each section the specific formatting, including th…
-
You can enter the DOI in Extra like this: DOI: 10.1234/567890 That will be cited and will move to a proper DOI field automatically when it becomes available. Zotero will automatically import the DOI to Extra if you use the Zotero browser connector …
-
This is what you will want to do to answer all your questions: “I think your best bet would be to create some entries in Zotero the way you'd want them to look like after import, export them to bibtex/RIS, and then look whether you can re-create th…
-
Take a look at the start of the citation section here for examples: https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/blob/master/chicago-fullnote-bibliography-with-ibid.csl
-
Choose a different citation style in the Document Preferences Window in the Zotero tab in Word, such as APA style.
-
Can you also take a screenshot of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) item in your library, upload to Dropbox or similar, and post a link here?
-
This would just be a change in the publisher style since MDPI wrote the style a few years back. Is this consistent across MDPI journals? (The template styles have no impact on a style.)
-
This link might be helpful https://apastyle.apa.org/blog/whats-new-7e
-
That would require changing the style. Is this for a specific journal or publisher?
-
See https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines/references/examples/journal-article-references#1
-
Zotfile’s rename function is under the Manage Attachments menu. It can also be set to be automatic on import.

@gduffner

You can add a date to Extra like this: Issued: 2021-03-31 That will be migrated to a proper field once Zotero fields can be updated. Currently, you can indicate the Podcaster is the Host by adding (Host) after their first name. There is a dedicat…

Deel = volume Editie = issue Deeks = series title (e.g., title of the special issue holding the article) More here https://github.com/zotero/zotero/blob/master/chrome/locale/nl-NL/zotero/zotero.properties
-
Don’t modify by hand. Are you making your bibliography using the Zotero Word plugin or another way? If you are using the Word plugin, change to a different citation style and back in the Document Preferences window from the Zotero tab to reset the…

No, the tab is the method for viewing related items. With the Zutilo plugin, you can add a keyboard shortcut to show that tab
