At one point grabbing both was an option in the settings I think - that would be useful in the future. In my use case I need both because we're checking the retraction indexing at the publisher website. We need to understand and be able to review la…

Yes, I'd like to see "Added By" locally on the desktop app as well as in the web library.

Adam, One case doesn't work as I'd want: DOI import on this one grabs the whole book: 10.1017/9781009030687.006 Also: DOI import almost never includes abstracts. Simplicity is also an issue: One click for the web translator is always simper than …

>you want Merge to allow more finegrained selection of creator fields among merged items, correct? Yes. When Book Author is present, Author is not enabled as an option for the merge. As for examples: Today I was working with a DeGruyter book: h…

What type is most appropriate for a preprint in Zotero?

Thanks - that's great for troubleshooting & discussing with lab members. It would also be helpful to be able to query by "Added By" as well.

Consider whether "merged" means "deduplicated". There are tools for this. Happy to talk about it if you're still working on this; similar topics come up for me in systematic reviewing and semi-automation of systematic review related tasks. -Jodi

A good dataset to look against is OpenCitations, a CC-BY dataset: http://opencitations.net This is not comprehensive and mostly DOI-to-DOI. Other sources are proprietary (e.g. Web of Science, Scopus) but could rely on a Zotero user's library subscr…

Same problem, as described in email

Thanks--any chance of getting the 'advanced' search linked elsewhere? I knew I'd seen it before, but I couldn't find it again when I looked today. For instance, clicking on the search box on every page goes to http://www.zotero.org/search/#support …

I'm still having problems with SpringerLink. My guess is that this is trying to fire on DOI: http://www.springerlink.com/content/k7084020x5791357/ since 'add by DOI' also fails for 10.1007/978-3-642-15515-4_23 even though http://dx.doi.org/10.1007…

I'm having trouble adding by DOI for some items. [1] fails to add by identifier, but [2] resolves. -Jodi [1] 10.1007/978-3-642-15515-4_23 [2] http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-642-15515-4_23

@adamsmith Yeah, as far as I can see, CiteULike is closer to what I want at the moment. I've analyzed Mendeley's failings for what I want, too: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-lld/2010Aug/0005.html @Tjowens: the problem is (1) the "don't…

Great news! I'll keep an eye out for this. Combining all metadata results sounds like a great idea in general.

What's the best way to expose RDF metadata for Zotero to ingest? I'm looking for the minimal change to suggest to a page such as this one for Zotero to detect the metadata. I don't see any RDF approaches in the Make your site Zotero-ready documenta…

I'm also having a problem with this (conference proceeding/book chapter): dx.doi.org can resolve this: 10.3233/978-1-58603-942-4-115 but Zotero can't find it and gives the error "Lookup failed: Zotero could not find a record for the specifi…
