so close - reinstalling the newest version means the green down arrow and the house-icon turn green when I click on items in a collection. But clicking on the green arrow doesn't take me back and although clicking on the house opens up a list, click…

That set me wondering : I had recursive collections on for all the previous testing, but turning it off doesn't make it work either.

Nothing in the Firefox error console, this is the debug log for me clicking on several items in a collection : http://pastebin.com/W2YZ5zCr

Yay - it now installs on the linux machine (haven't tried Windows yet) - but I am having the same issue as Ajlion, the buttons stay inactive. And changing from the tab it started into to pane and back did not help.
-
tried installing from the link again - same error. Also tried the manual installation approach but keep coming up against the fact that the shell claims that extensions directory is read-only and no amount of sudo will sort it out. My rather li…

On the Windows machine there is nothing of interest in the error console, neither before nor after the restart. More luck on the Ubuntu 11.04 machine : Error: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsI…

just tried Win XP - I get past the hurdle mentioned above - firefox then claims the plugin will be installed at restart, but when the restart is done, there is no sign of the plug-in. Not sure what information you need for this to be any help ?…

hmmm - downloaded fine, but then I get "Zotero Item History could not be installed because Firefox cannot modify the needed file". Ubuntu and Firefox 4.0.1
-
brilliant, of course! Many thanks!

No solution, but I have been contacted by a friend who seems to be having a similar problem. Mac Os X 10.6.7 (intel core i5) Zotero : 2.1.6 Firefox : 3.6.17 When she adds a page using the button, no screenshot is added automatically (despi…

Glad this has come up - I got around the ordinal "o"s for the numbers of a collection in French by using the special character codes from here http://www.webmonkey.com/2010/02/special_characters/ - so that gives me nº ... but that still leaves me …

I had reached the same frustrating conclusion of it not working anymore, but then tried it with Zotero in pane mode. That worked fine for me - have you tried that ?

oh brilliant, thank you so much. So when 2.1b6 comes out, my style should work with that?
-
the installation problem still occurs without the number-of-pages. That said, the installed style has the number-of pages in it, and that's the one creating the errors upon creation of a bibliography. There seem to be several problems here...

hmmm - so essentially there is something in my style which throws firefox off kilter? Does it help that the style installs and works in my copy of 2.1b1 - just in case the whole issue is somehow linked to this whole issue http://forums.zotero.…

The original problem (upon creating a bibliography) indicates this in the error report: [JavaScript Error: "syntax error" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/citeproc.js" line: 415}] is there a way of getting an error report from a style wh…

tried, same error as before in the 2.1b5 beta, "does not appear to be a valid style file.". It must be beta-specific, but I don't know what to try next.
-
Thanks for that, I have removed the offending item and the style here git://gist.github.com/808417.git now validates, but it refuses to install, "does not appear to be a valid style file." - surely if it validates it should be a valid file and insta…

and a new Report ID 689734431 now that I have removed the translator. Not sure what to do now?
-
Report ID is 1680588203 and I think I can now see what is doing this. It seems to be linked to one of the Bibtex citekey translators I was using and which have also recently stopped working for me. I suppose the first step is to remove the translato…

sorry to keep bringing this up, but I have now tried the newest beta(4) and still can't seem to get my style with number-of-pages running. More specifically, the style here https://gist.github.com/786634 installs without problems in my patched ver…

http://framakey.org/Pack/Framakey-Ubuntu - this gives you a windows and a mac portable firefox as well as a full ubuntu with firefox - and all using the same profile path, i.e. you can use your zotero base from all platforms.
-
cheers - have exchanged "label-" for "text variable" and am now sitting tight on my patched version of 2.1b1 and eagerly awaiting 2.1b3.
-
I think the problem is to do with "number-of-pages" and have opened a new thread indicating as much: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/15102/21b2-problem-number-of-pages-issue/

if you are looking for (mainly) French resources and are lucky to have useful stuff for you on http://www.revues.org/ their translator is really good (because they wrote it: http://leo.hypotheses.org/4841 ). http://persee.fr/web/guest/home also wo…

in the same style, change this: TO That should do the trick.

I think I get what you are doing. I take it you are "citing" by dragging a reference from zotero into a footnote rather than citing using the word/oo plugin? Dragging a reference from zotero will always produce bibliography output. There is no w…
