oh brilliant, thank you so much. So when 2.1b6 comes out, my style should work with that?
-
the installation problem still occurs without the number-of-pages. That said, the installed style has the number-of pages in it, and that's the one creating the errors upon creation of a bibliography. There seem to be several problems here...

hmmm - so essentially there is something in my style which throws firefox off kilter? Does it help that the style installs and works in my copy of 2.1b1 - just in case the whole issue is somehow linked to this whole issue http://forums.zotero.…

The original problem (upon creating a bibliography) indicates this in the error report: [JavaScript Error: "syntax error" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/citeproc.js" line: 415}] is there a way of getting an error report from a style wh…

tried, same error as before in the 2.1b5 beta, "does not appear to be a valid style file.". It must be beta-specific, but I don't know what to try next.
-
Thanks for that, I have removed the offending item and the style here git://gist.github.com/808417.git now validates, but it refuses to install, "does not appear to be a valid style file." - surely if it validates it should be a valid file and insta…

and a new Report ID 689734431 now that I have removed the translator. Not sure what to do now?
-
Report ID is 1680588203 and I think I can now see what is doing this. It seems to be linked to one of the Bibtex citekey translators I was using and which have also recently stopped working for me. I suppose the first step is to remove the translato…

sorry to keep bringing this up, but I have now tried the newest beta(4) and still can't seem to get my style with number-of-pages running. More specifically, the style here https://gist.github.com/786634 installs without problems in my patched ver…

http://framakey.org/Pack/Framakey-Ubuntu - this gives you a windows and a mac portable firefox as well as a full ubuntu with firefox - and all using the same profile path, i.e. you can use your zotero base from all platforms.
-
cheers - have exchanged "label-" for "text variable" and am now sitting tight on my patched version of 2.1b1 and eagerly awaiting 2.1b3.
-
I think the problem is to do with "number-of-pages" and have opened a new thread indicating as much: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/15102/21b2-problem-number-of-pages-issue/

if you are looking for (mainly) French resources and are lucky to have useful stuff for you on http://www.revues.org/ their translator is really good (because they wrote it: http://leo.hypotheses.org/4841 ). http://persee.fr/web/guest/home also wo…

in the same style, change this: TO That should do the trick.
-
I think I get what you are doing. I take it you are "citing" by dragging a reference from zotero into a footnote rather than citing using the word/oo plugin? Dragging a reference from zotero will always produce bibliography output. There is no w…

ah, in that case you need to stick a name-as-sort-order="all" in the "author-bibliography" macro, that should sort it out. As for the general comment: actually, I am waiting for Zotero 2.1 to come out of beta in order to release a csl 1.0 style wh…

I created EHESS-temporaire from various styles, originally in order to provide a style which corresponds with what we expect our masters students in history to produce. I've made the change you were looking for - placing first name before family n…

I can confirm the reference test pane doesn't work with 2.1 beta - neither with 0.8 styles, nor with 1.0 styles. It provided me with a good reason to learn CSL properly rather than just fiddling with the code in the test pane...
-
cheers, looking forward to that working!
-
Any news on this? I would really like to be able to use the new style in a training session at the end of the month and numbers-of-pages are rather crucial to our archane citation norms...
-
Right - I installed Zotero 2.1 Beta 1 from the start page - so it's normal then that number-of-pages won't work? Any reasons why/estimates when that will be possible?
-
I was validating the old style against csl 0.81, validator.nu says: "Bad value number-of-pages for attribute variable on element label from namespace http://purl.org/net/xbiblio/csl. From line 115, column 15; to line 115, column 84 " I have posted…

I have just finished a post about a French citation style I created for our masters students here: http://laboiteaoutils.blogspot.com/2010/05/rediger-avec-zotero-quelques-styles.html The first style includes page numbers for books and both have Fr…

I have been using Kramer's solution in this thread http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/5094/%3FFocus%3D22050 to great success. I can even drag and drop the reference straight from zotero into my latex editor - in a dual screen set-up I suspect that …

The way around the missing BNF translator is to use world cat, http://www.worldcat.org/ instead - that integrates all the BNF catalogue entries and works with Zotero.

yay - eliminating the read-only files solved my sync problems too. In my case the culprits were two downloaded books from google books, and two .pdfs each from the French CAIRN and Persée databases (but not the other pdfs I have from there, oddly).
-
and another error report, as it is now back to requesting firefox restarts: 2102302673 I saw mentions of read-only pdfs causing problems. Should I try removing .pdfs I added recently and see if that helps?
-
sorry to keep this going - but my sync still won't work. Upon restarting firefox, my first failed attempt produced this error: report 1214728090 I then ran a debug log for a restart and three failed attempts to sync. The Debug ID is D12044194…

Thanks for your reply. I have disabled practically all other extensions (except two that have worked alongside zotero for years) and the database check didn't reveal any problems As of this morning, the plug-in no longer crashes asking for a firef…
