Quick question: I tried enabling logging but looks like the log was cleared when restarting Zotero. How do I get access to the crash report you refer to? And yes, Zotero closes completely. Zotero was opened when adding items.

I think I have found what causes the (intermittent) crashes: the DOI plugin, that I had added recently. I have a lot of plugins, so either it interferes with another plugin (there’s a DOI lookup when adding items) or with the connector — I wouldn’t…

anyone else having the same problem?
-
Just tested adding the same paper I just added but this time through the "add item by identifier" button, worked fine. So it really seems to be the connector.
-
Okay. Thanks @adamsmith
-
Right, no problem. Is there a way to disable worldcat import when entering a DOI/ISBN in the "add item by identifier" box?
-
yes that’s what I figured! thanks!
-
no worries, thank you! as long as I know how to fix this in the meantime it’s not a big issue ;-)

if you "long press" the highlighting button with the pencil (did that by mistake sometimes) then your fingers will highlight instead of scrolling the only way to revert this back is to...highlight with the pencil some text — otherwise it stays that…
-
can someone help here? this is driving me nuts! I have no idea how to "fix" it once scrolling starts to highlight! disconnecting the pencil, playing with OS settings, nothing works!
-
wonderful ! thanks !
-
additional information: this is intermittent, meaning that sometimes selecting the highlighting tool allows finger scrolling, sometimes not... clearly a bug then !
-
Found a workaround: by selecting "Continous" page transition *and* "Vertical" scroll direction there’s only 1 page shown in landscape view. While I’d prefer the Jump and Horizontal values, this is nonetheless a workaround in the meantime.

Thank you @dstillman !

@martynas_b thanks, but without a text tool I’ll go back to pdfExpert for annotations as I said constantly going back and forth between the sidebar and the text isn’t optimal at all if I’m annotating each paragraph in a paper besides, *every* pdf …

You’re right — as long as the paper isn’t published in two columns, in which case the notes won’t appear in the reading order. About half the papers in my field are in the two-columns format. Besides, from a purely cognitive point of view I find it…

@martynas_b while doing the video, it just occurred to me that I was on a dvorak keyboard layout — actually the french version (called "bepo"). The "`" character requires pressing OPTION-T then [space], so it’s a combination of two keystrokes. I hav…

Got it, thank you!

Another thing I just noticed: images aren’t visible in the iOS app. Is this normal (not implemented yet) ?
-
I just tested it ; it seems to work when dragging e.g. a png in the notes window but not when pasting an image from the clipboard. I think it could be quite useful to be able to paste images directly in there — for instance, I often find myself taki…

Okay no problem. But in the meantime, there still seems to be a bug with monospace code written on one single line, it doesn’t render correctly. Typing `hello` does not result in the word "hello" written in monospace. It’s still mostly usable thoug…
-
Ok. Actually I mostly wondered for: - code blocks/monospace — usually it’s "```something```" but if you type that it translates to "```omething```" (first character gets eaten and "`" doesn’t disappear) - color highlighting — this isn’t standard m…

Wonderful ! Thanks !

wonderful, thank you!

Thank you !

Yes it does

I’ve tried deleting what’s in there but the "note" column still shows "1" Is there any other way?
-
I’m sorry for the long delay, I’ve been totally swamped with work in the last few weeks. Thank you for the modification. I’ve been able to eliminate one more little bug that printed "URL" before the URL, and another one that lead to blank journal na…

Still been avoiding full screen mode, no crashes since last week. Full screen mode indeed seems to be the culprit here.

Oh wow, wonderful. Not being a native english speaker I had not encountered those expressions yet ;-) Thanks!
