I second that feature request. Instead of changing the icon color, it would also be feasible to "simply" run a duplicate search upon import of the reference. The dialog for merging items could then open, so that only existing Zotero functions are re…

Same here. Just spent most of my time correcting proofs because of that.

I have the exact same problem, but on Ubuntu. And I am the only user and of course admin. I use ppa:smathot/cogscinl for updates.
-
Alright, thanks!

The style is similar to Conservation Biology. Differences: Date in bibliography is in parentheses Ampersand is used in bibliography instead of "and" in authors list. Journal name is in italics and abbreviated Paragraphs of citations in bibliography…

This problem reappeared in Zotero 3.0.8. Zotero in expanded tab mode as only tab crashes firefox immediately on restart and ever after except when disabling add-ons in Firefox safe mode. Edit: I configured Firefox to reopen the last tab on restart t…

Wow, learned something again. Though I'm sure I never used anything else than the Chicago style, and I found an old citation with the comma afterwards. Maybe I "corrected" it automatically then? thanks non-issue resolved.

It's not really a problem, just a quirk. The progress bar is partially filled at the beginning (a few millimeters), and then it starts to fill anew from the beginning. Does not really matter (to me).
-
AWESOME! I'm so happy to upgrade to 2.1b6 (and my colleages too), there even is a proper import progress bar! (though it starts twice) Thank you very much for your support. meaning: problem solved
-
That's GREAT news, it will hopefully put an end to my import worries, and we'll be able to use Z2.1! Thanks a lot.
-
OK, thank you fbennet. So that error has been registered, and you submitted a patch that works for it. I understand the reason for failure is not completely understood yet, but will the patch be integrated in the future standalone or 2.1 beta?
-
Thanks for your help. The error description is "the selected file is not in a supported format", no crash, no freeze. I agree the error message I've described a few posts above was probably another problem (I'm quite lost with the different import …

Actually I put the RDF here: http://dl.free.fr/rX1pD4r9e so you can take it directly. If you can import it in 2.1b5, I'd be happy to throw away my computer.
-
Hi again, I have news concerning this bug in the latest version, 2.1b5: it still bugs. I tried a 4.5 MB RDF exported from 2.0.9, Zotero 2.1b5 could not import it. I imported the RDF into Zotero 2.0.9 and upgraded to 2.1b5, which worked fine. Then…

Thank you. Sorry I could not find it in the search.

Error solved. There were some bad characters ( {{}} )in the BIB file text fields.

This is the import error message: http://tinypic.com/m/dqkozl/4 after this, the "report errors" button in the gear menu is greyed out. I logged the debug output. This is what happens when I import a RDF with 2.1b2: Debug ID: D1338488370 I had done…

Sorry, my bad... I got mixed up with the error reports that I posted, as I currently have BIB and RDF import problems. The import failure that I manage to do repeatably is about RDFs, I'll post back here when I can log the BIB import failure proble…
-
I'll try to log the error, but as I told you, it's occasional and I haven't figured out how to reproduce it yet.
-
After disabling all estensions, I managed to get the error message again but I wasn't logging. I tried different cases and behavoirs but haven't managed to reproduce the error yet.

RDF import STILL FAILS for every RDF I want to import, even after a clean install (removed the whole zotero folder). Related: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/15146/consistently-wrong-import/ where every first import of BIB after Zotero start fa…

Hi, Now I've done and redone a clean install of 2.1b2 (removed whole zotero folder before) and everytime I try to import the first BIB after Zotero start, I get the message: http://tinypic.com/r/mrwhkw/7 When I try to reimport directly afterwards, i…

I'd like to add that except a small 15 Ko RDF, all other RDFs (>1MB) failed to import just the same, and they were probably generated ith the 2.1beta1. Now I have them all just fine in the 2.0.9 version.

Another vote for duplicate detection. It should be impossible to import a new reference that is already present. I ended up with a huge library, that I'm still trying to clean up.
-
I purged my library (deleted everything), finally. It turned out that I used "remove collection" to delete my references. I did not know that it does not delete the references! Although the different terms suggest it, I would provide for an option t…

Thanks for your quick answer. I'll try something and report back. Though I'd like to say I never had import problems with my BIB files, and I've imported hundreds daily for a year or so. It's true I got that import message error, but as I could rei…
-
Yes, I sent that report before restarting Firefox. I thought the error came because I often work with big collections. I'll try to reproduce but can't promise, it was the first time it happened.
-
I'd like to add that when saving a reference using the icon in firefox's address bar, Zotero readily saves the item in the currently selected folder, so it's a bit odd that when importing items, they always appear in the root of the library (instead…

OK, thanks that you tried. I actually tried increasing virtual memory without success up to 4 Gb.

Thank you!
