I also found it quite frustrating (also on a Mac), but I could manage. However, I just tried Zotero 7, which is even worse in this regard, bordering on unusable for me. (I understand that it's less of a difficulty for some others, but we are all dif…

Excellent, thank you! What is the best way to learn about these tricks?

Thanks, I'll check the Better BibTeX plugin. My comment is related to the original question in the sense that I wasn't able to find how to copy BibTeX (it's hardly discoverable), and googling led to my old question that I've forgotten about long ago…

I'm back to Zotero after many years due to too many deal-breaking issues with Mendeley ... It would be very convenient to provide this feature without the need for additional, difficult to find configuration. Why can't there be a standard "Copy as …

Thanks for the replies! Indeed, false positives are not common. I have 477 items and 2 false positives only. False positives are probably harmful only if they clutter up the duplicates view (i.e. there's too many of them).

Great, thanks! Need to stop it, as it's saturating my upload and making basic web browsing painfully slow. Night-time is better for syncing.

This is not Zotero specific --- Firefox lets you manage auto update for add-ons separately or globally. Double click the add-on in the add-on manager, and you'll find the option at the bottom of the page. Or turn off add-on updates globally (for a…

Ah, I found this, but I was not sure if it would delete articles from my library (as opposed to only deleting attachments from the server). But if the storage is separate, then I assume it won't.

Sure, the Highwire translator does. The embedded RDF thingie before restart didn't
-
After I reloaded the page, it didn't use Highwire 2.0. It said: "Embedded RDF" or something similar. That worked but didn't give me the PDF.
-
I confirm that the article can be saved now. (Browser restart was needed after updating the translator.) However, I did get an error on the first attempt to save. It worked on subsequent attempts.

No, it is not working like an app tab. If I close an app tab, it won't come back on browser restart. Zotero does come back. I wish it behaved like a normal app-tab.

For some reason I wasn't getting the email notifications for some of the replies ... The master password dialogue will come up sooner or later in every session, without me touching the browser (i.e. it's not triggered by opening a website with a pa…

Apparently a possible workaround is not to show Zotero in the status bar, but move the Zotero toolbar button to the add-on bar. It will look the same, but won't force the add-on bar visible.
-
I'm of course not concerned about that, it's just papers. But it's confusing for other people, and unnecessary.
-
Except app tabs are not forced on you ... I can't make it not an app tab and have the problem gone, like in Fx 3.6. I still think it's bad design. Apparently everyone else who uses my computer sooner or later ends up with a window with only the Zo…

In other words, you're saying that it is impossible what I'm asking for. That's a bit disappointing, it really doesn't make any sense for most users to have Zotero open *all the time*.

Thanks for the reply!

Please, can someone at least verify this? I am still having this issue and it makes Zotero almost useless for me, at least for adding new papers. I need to type authors and title manually.

I was not aware that Word had such a function (I don't use it much). Thank you, this solves the problem.
-
Yes, it *works* of course, but the format of the text is a table, with the reference numbers in the first column and the references in the second. Therefore it's simply difficult to edit them in Word. I was wondering if there's anything I can do …

Thanks, great!

After several bugfix releases, this problem is still present in Zotero 2.0.8. Could you please fix it?
-
I wanted to ask about the same thing. It has been broken for quite some time now. (Perhaps because of a website update?)
-
Thanks, most useful!

I was wrong ... I pasted and dragged into different programs. When pasting into Notepad, there are no line breaks. (Notepad won't accept drag and drop). When either dragging or pasting into ms word, the line breaks are there. Anyway, I do not ne…

OK. When using the kb shortcut, everything is on a single line while with drag and drop the line breaks are there. I guess it must be some windows/unix style line-break issue. Anyway, it doesn't affect me if line breaks are there or not.
-
Does copying by Alt-Ctrl-C give the same result as drag-and-drop? (The latter is very cumbersome with a touchpad, and doesn't work very well on Windows)

Thank you. Another way I found (before I read your reply) was installing the generic bibtex style from http://www.zotero.org/styles
