Just got back in front of my computer and as I read your message I opened Zotero and it seems (so far) to be syncing fully. As it has been down a few days it will take a while to completely sync. But so far looks good. Thanks massively for the help.…

Sorry Dan, just noticed your post here. In answer to your question, before I fixed it yes it did verify the server which is odd! Nonetheless, the problem has been fixed in a remarkably simple way: see https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/29372/debu…

Thanks everyone for your help! I will now link my thread to this thread as well in case anyone else finds this!

It has been fixed! Changed the password for my CloudMe account and (obviously) changed my account details on each computer and it has worked. Who knows what happened! Possibly if you have been inactive in actually logging on directly, it causes pr…

Haha, how often that happens! Changed your password with whom? CloudMe?
-
Aha, what did you do to get it working again? I have done the reset several times now (and on each machine) but to no avail. I also ensured that everything was updated.
-
Superb. Thanks for that help. I will do if I have an issue in the future. Much appreciated.

I am warming even more to the Simonster validator. Warming a great deal! In general, if red error messages like that emerge is it best just to remove them and then revalidate it? Or it is less heavy handed than that usually?
-
Thank goodness for that! I have deleted the line 328 in Notebook+ and it is working a-ok again! Relief is not the word. I spent ages getting things right at last! I see, the CSL Editor is not perfect. I am certainly far from perfect in this area. G…

Thanks for that! That's weird. I don't think I understand this lark. What does this 'empty in line 328' mean in simple terms. I use the CSL editor to create the edits to the csl form so this means pretty much nothing to me as it is. Is it possi…

I had indeed. I validated it before the update and before I started using it. I had been using it without issue for months until earlier today. I have now uploaded it here: https://gist.github.com/4254465. Is that right?
-
Yes. Only an edit in Zotero itself will cause an auto-sync. It doesn't know a file changed without checking explicitly, and it only does that when it's already doing a sync for other reasons. Aha, and there is the crux. That sounds like the most pla…

Yes! Superb. It has worked. After that it has synced across both machines. What is more, to make sure it was working properly I then edited the updated file on Computer A and tested to see if these changes were synced to Computer B and...good news..…
-
Right. Again, Computer B. I have edited the file and then synced it with it producing this Debug ID: D1239822492. Hopefully I have it right this time! A.
-
Ok. I will do.
-
PS: This document has been synced correctly across my computers. However, even though that worked it does not appear to have forced a sync of the other file. Would ti be worthwhile for me to delete the file which has failed to sync and then reattac…
-
Right. I went on Computer B and enabled Debug ID and then edited a different file and then sent to the Zotero servers. Here is the Debug ID: D1704459316. Hope that is right? Thanks.
-
Bingo! I have got it. Will do that right now. Thanks.
-
I used MS Word 2010 to both create and modify the document. When I select 'Show File' on the computer I created the file (i.e. Computer A) it shows the date as 19 November 2012. However, on doing it on Computer B (the one I modified it on) it show…

Thanks for that, I was doing something dim last night. Here is the Debug ID after I have tried syncing: D467257761.

Once I get into the Extensions section of the Add-ons Manager I cannot find the plain Zotero one referred to in the instructions. All I find is the 'Zotero LibreOffice Integration' and 'Zotero Word for Windows Integration' extension.
-
Thanks, Dan. Yes. I produced a word document on Computer A last month. I then attached it to a letter entry in Zotero. This synced with Computer B without issue. However, I then used Computer B to edit the file whilst out and about. However, on r…

Superb, thanks @Gracile. I will have a tinker with it and see whether it works. I don't see how it couldn't!
-
Thanks for the help, @Gracile. This is what I have: http://imgur.com/VdpC2 So would I have to include an 'Else-if' condition in this part of the csl file with 'letter' and do so without a title macro/variable? Is that correct?
-
@adamsmith I did not know about this function! Some retrospective housekeeping is in the offing, I feel! Thanks for this!
-
Others have to confirm but I'm not sure it's a good idea/practice Why is this not a good idea? Does it cause additional problems somewhere along the line? It's possible & preferable to do this with CSL, but it's a bit involved By involved do you…

I have also discovered that by changing the personal_correspondence author field so that it appears as; Alfred Russel Wallace to Charles Darwin, 18 April 1869 Instead of; Wallace, Alfred Russel, to Charles Darwin, 18 April 1869 It led to the Bibliog…

Superb. Works a dream now. I don't know why I didn't place the short contributors and title in the 'Else' to begin with! Thanks very much for the help everyone!
-
Right. I have had moderate success with this. So I followed your advice with: add Conditional ----if type personal-communication ---- else Here is a screenshot of how my final set up looks in the CSL Editor (I have shaded the bits I have added): h…

Cracking. I will have a go in the morning! Thanks for the help again.
