I've emailed the debug output to support@zotero.org, referencing this discussion thread Michael
-
OK. I'll try this later today and send it in for you. Thanks much for your help. Michael

Thanks. The current reply to comment on a previous paper is short and only has 4 citations. So I can do it manually. I have a couple of others and a grant proposal coming up in the next month. So it's not yet urgent, but will rapidly become so. Mayb…

Oh. I thought that the citation-field was something that was generated from the citations in the repository. Should ecology be added to the specs? It's kind of an eclectic list as it stands now. Michael
-
Many thanks. Already using it on my other computer.

The place that I saw it differed from Zotero's Elsevier Harvard style is for book chapters. Elsevier Harvard uses , in: Ecology Mod. uses . In: There may be other small differences but I didn't notice any.
-
I've discovered that the bibliography style shown in the guide to authors page is out of date. Ecological Modelling is actually using a variant of the Elsevier harvard style with titles. This makes sense since they are an Elsevier journal. I've made…

Umm. I don't see anywhere on my manage group settings where I can turn off file editing. I can enable comments, change membership categories, add information, change the name and description of the group, but not change file editing privileges.
-
OK. Then I'll turn that off. Others can still create and edit citations though?
-
I'd like people to be able to add citations but not attachments. File editing (I think) affects whether or not they can add anything, including citations and attachments.
-
In my case, I have all my PDF's in a single folder on my hard drive. I do not (or do not intentionally) save them to Zotero. So I just want a link to the attachment. This just makes it easy for me to see the PDF's that I have on my computer. But I d…

I follow you here.

OK. That is not clear (to me at least) in the CSL specs. I read it to say that the rest of the entry lines up with the second field . This would be the title in the AAA style. However, you are right that if it doesn't work in a block it all is moot.
-
Issues of working with display/block styles aside, wouldn't second-field-align line up the left margin of the rest of the citation with the field following the date if applied to that block? You would need to have date and the rest of the citation …
-
second-field-align does not work AFAICT. If it did, I think it would solve the AAA issue. Author block at left margin Date and rest of bib block with display=indent and second-field-align=flush

So if I understand this correctly, there is no way to purge attachments from a group folder. I accidentally sync'ed the attachments to a group folder when reinstalling Zotero. Now my online storage is largely taken up by these unneeded attachments. …
-
OK. That's too bad. I was hoping the new CSL would fix this, but the Zotero processor is not reading the needed CSL code correctly in this case. It also affects another style that I need - Advances in Complex Systems. The version now in the reposito…

Doesn't work. I've already tried that. This is because the date line behaves like a continuation of the author line for any hanging indent. If Zotero would insert a carriage return after the block, all would be fine. But without that, there is no wa…
-
To get Word (or other word processor) to properly apply a hanging indent, you have to replace the line feed with a carriage return after each author group. Put your cursor at the left margin to the left of the date, hit delete/backspace, press retur…

That's fine. Glad to see it's up already.

OK. Clicking on the link did not show the dependent style in xml format, but I found and downloaded it from the repository to use as a model. Here is the new dependent version of the Ecological Modeling style. See if this works correctly. …
-
That makes sense, but it is not clear to me how to actually create this. Or perhaps I do not create it but you do?
-
While it is desirable to submit a MS with proper bibliographic format, I suspect you are right that academic publishers can probably fix it if need be. The much larger audience with perhaps a greater need is all the students doing MA and Phd theses …
-
Have tried all of the above. Maybe will try a new profile with FF5. Thanks
-
Thanks!

I am also eager for a new standlone that will work with the newest wordprocessor plugins. I've had to quit using Firefox because Firefox 4 and 5 on the Mac have something wrong that causes them to drag slower and slower, as the program stays open. I…

I just spent a couple fruitless hours working on the American Antiquity style, which is based on the AAA style to see if anything has changed with CSL 1. With regards to these styles, it has not, at least in terms of what Zotero is able to process. …

Thanks!

From what you describe, this could affect many Zotero styles, making bibliographies unusable. I haven't checked, but if that is the case it may be of some urgency to fix this particular bug.
-
I wrote this because I was submitting a paper to a special volume of ACS. I discovered the bug when I went to revise this paper this week. But others might want to use it too. What is currently in the repository is unusable. Wouldn't it be a g…
