• I’ve just encountered this issue too - for the first time, surprisingly as I annotate all my pdfs in the Zotero reader. I may try converting the pdf to an epub to see if that makes a difference? (Zotero 2.0.0 Build 403, iPadOS 26.1}

• +1 please please please.. I spent ages trying and failing to find a setting in Zotero to label the highlight colour swatches. (Zotero 6, on OS X, won’t upgrade to 7 yet as plugins will break)..
