Thanks. Now that you mention it, I remember the thread. My apologies. I tried a search of the forum using "magic wand" but didn't find anything relevant.

If this is helpful, the RIS and BibTeX exports have the correct date. There is one great advantage to the CrossRef source. If there is a published correction - the icon in the address bar is a folder and Zotero offers a selection of the original art…

I cannot specifically provide you with the Chicago style standard. I do not think that there is such a standard. However, this is what I have have used. It seems to "look right" when output in Chicago style. Author's name if available else author'…

please see this thread on the same topic. http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/20842/ The developers and volunteers suggest that this best accomplished through changes to the import translators. After experiencing an all caps author name problem with…

Highwire is working perfectly now. My sincere thanks to those concerned.

It depends upon how many characters may be in the display. A couple of possibilities : invert names F:LL:F invert name order F:LL:F invert name fields F:LL:F

The HighWire translator allows all caps author name import. The last time I tried so did the RIS. Here is an example of Highwire translator import of a journal article with all caps author names: http://archpedi.ama-assn.org/cgi/content/summary/I/2…

Is it possible to move this request to the issue tracker? The problem with ScienceDirect isn't exclusive to that database. I find reversed author names in SpringerLink and older Wiley records. I commonly find this problem with authors of engineering…

If not all fields, then please consider adding a DOI column. Some sites do not provide doi metadata. I would love to have a quick way to find records without DOIs so that I can manually add the Doi where it is available.

At my university (SDSU) I no longer even get an address bar icon when on a Factiva article. I just happened to be at the UCSD library and browsing this forum while waiting for someone who was to meet me 25 minutes ago. I tested Factiva out of curios…

This is probably related to the location of the computer from which you connect to Factiva. My university has two access paths: on campus and off campus through the password protected library proxy. Counter-intuitively, I could successfully download…

I have looked at six of your videos. I highly recommend your tutorials.

The earlier thread on this topic is available at: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/15630/kindle-edition-books In the final post canarik states that the actual printed book page numbers are now available for Kindle ebooks. The Amazon Kindle he…

@ mark @adamsmith Please try this SD record: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1364661304002104 When downloaded into Zotero standalone using the address bar icon I get "Charles D., Yang" in the address field. This is the same kin…

@mronkko Please note that I have edited my post about importing from the clipboard directly into a collection. I would not only vote for a wiki to keep track of requests but I volunteer to assist with monitoring it and organizing topics.

26) Allow me to make a request that was first made back in 2009. When importing an item from the clipboard, please create a mechanism that allows it to be directly imported into a collection instead of into its own collection. Here are the requeste…

Are CrossRef and the DOI Foundation parts of the same entity?
-
I agree. That would be a useful error message. I would add that the error comment for the "see here" text should indicate the possibility that the journal publisher has not yet submitted the doi linking data to the doi Foundation. I have notice…

Thank you. I'll post when there is any progress.

I am working with Springer on getting their XML metadata so that their journal contents may be included in our online database. If someone can let me know specifically what is wrong with the way that Springer serves their data and specifically what …

Real world example of the ris download into a new collection problem: When I am on the SpringerLink site and use the address bar icon the download does not include the article abstract and includes both the print and electronic ISSNs. If …

My experience with WizFolio is that, depending on the citation style of the original material, it works adequately for journal articles that are in PubMed. It works not very well for articles in journals that aren't included in PubMed. Further, the …

I have the same issue with Zotero SA 3.0b2.1. I enter an ISBN into the magic wand field and press "Return". At first I thought that nothing happened. Then I found this thread in the forums and looked in "My Library" and found the record.

Thanks for the encouragement. Quite a few of the journals in this database have very interesting and useful articles for my ongoing research.

Please specify the citation style that you are using.

Thanks for the quick reply to my comment. My concern is, "How could I know the journal's publication place at the time of publication?" Is anyone aware of a database that follows the migration of a journal's publication place move by move? It seems …

I have a question about "place" as a field for journal articles. I gather that this would be the place of journal publication. However, I can name many journals that have undergone one or more changes in their place (city or nation) of publicat…
