What word processor and version? What operating system? You can upload your screen shot to any cloud storage service that allows public access, (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.) and paste a link here. I've had this happen with an older version of Libre…

Please consider using Google Scholar as an index instead of the final resource. If you link from GS to the items on the publishers' websites and import them from there you will receive metadata that is more accurate and complete than directly from G…

Among the tragedies that are part of his issue is the fact that many very worthwhile articles are published along with the garbage. ~Would a major publisher accept an article concerning an unsuccessful engineering approach to traffic safety in Urugu…

Is there a citation-style standard that requires _both_ an ePub ahead-of-print date and the final true date of publication?

If you are using Google Scholar you should [must] link to the publishers' sites to obtain the most complete and accurate metadata. Commercial full-text databases such as EBSCO, ProQuest, etc. differ greatly in the quality, consistency, and complete…

Depending on the nature of the creators' names (double or triple last name, name particles, etc.) you can have at least good results using Zotero's built-in single-field/2-field button/icon. Some names will need to be hand-edited. After accomplishin…

Why can't you sync? What happens when you try? Please provide details. This should simply happen. If you explain further an expert will be able to help.

This morning I heard back from an editorial assistant. "Your suggestion to add a comma to the authors' names might work satisfactorily in some cases. However, a comma wouldn't be a useful addition if your author's name was simply, Bruce Simon." Th…

Question: Are import translators in the plans? An extended version of the BookMarklet? Or will this be a much more closely integrated iPad / desktop and improved Zotero/PaperShip-like system?

I'll try not to provide TMI. @resol342 made a fundamental error when truing to helpfully fully explain by mentioning Zotero as a part of the problem. Please, when trying to communicate with a cog in a total institution, never mention something else …

Please provide more information. What are you trying to save? From what URL? What operating system? What browser? What version of Zotero? https://www.zotero.org/support/getting_help https://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_support

@adamsmith I received an updated reply from NCBI concerning when PubMed is updated with the most recent EDAT interval an how long after a record receives an EDAT before the record becomes availlable to searcheers: Thank you for writing to the Pu…

See: https://www.library.illinois.edu/infosci/research/guides/dewey/ A very detailed complete guide to Dewey assignment. See also the OCLC service where you can enter a book title & author or an ISBN and get the Dewey classification number(s…

Sorry! I did not mean to suggest that full-text syncing refers to file syncing or storage quota-- quite the opposite. I was stating that it is essential to sync your metadata and notes. I was trying to echo and further emphasize the importance of sy…

This is one time that the use of all-upper-case for emphasis (and even bolding) may be excused. Full-text content syncing will one day save your sanity and maybe even your job when something happens to harm your local computer's storage.

Thanks. The current import to a new collection is almost always quite satisfactory. However, it is good to know there is a way to get items in a selected collection.

@auresauc Are you asking about the position of the small icons at the top of the browser window when you wish to download the metadata from a publisher website or a database? If so the icons exist (but in somewhat different places) on Chrome, Edge, …

I am one of the (I hope) many who pay for unlimited storage but use only a tiny bit of that. I do this because I want to support Zotero. Please do the same.

@86ul Please recall that all of the data included or missing from Zotero fields does not increase your storage space when you sync. The synced omission of empty fields likely would always play havoc with database structure. Many records arrive from …

@lydiawood It would be very helpful if you could provide examples of label and wall-panel citations in journals. Can you also provide links to examples of Instructions for Authors from journals that include or might include these kinds of reference …

The quality of "peer review" varies greatly across journals -- even within some of the old standard publishers. Most of the predatory publishers claim to peer review the manuscripts they receive but at the same time claim that articles will be publi…

FWIW, I, a few years ago, somehow ended up with _three_ different Google accounts from my university when the California State University system moved to Google for email management -- one account for each of my email alias accounts. (In addition to…

This is something very basic or something very bizarre. Please step back and eliminate the basic issues. I'm not trying to be insulting or patronizing. So if it seems that way I apologize. I'm remembering my own errors from the past. I'm recalling p…

@adamsmith The following cannot explain why Zotero omits the first word of the title only when it is the name of a nation. My curiosity is raging! I can send other examples if helpful. Export formats from OVID for an article from American Journal …

I'm assuming you mean that you deleted a sub_collection_ ... if you mean something else this comment may not be useful. (I'm not being a pedant. If you are more comfortable in a language other than English, there are people here who may be able to h…

This sometimes happens to me when I'm editing and adding names. I cannot reliably reproduce the behavior. I've become convinced that I'm not _precisely_ clicking on the + and am actually clicking in the abstract field. Shift-Enter will add a new aut…

Unless you have a really good reason for using OVID to search Medline you should use the free PubMed interface. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ edit: This suggestion, obviously, doesn't improve the situation for other OVID databases.
