Zotero deleting text on google docs

Hello, I’ve been having trouble adding citations to a Google Docs document. Whenever I try to insert a new citation, more than 20 pages of my work get deleted. I’ve tried pretty much everything I can think of, but I still haven’t been able to fix the issue. Is there a way to solve it?

See Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents. Make sure you follow through to the end.
  • This just happened to me.
I tried to add a page number to a citation. Google docs undid all work over the last 30-40 minutes, then deleted everything south of that citation.
    Disastrous.

You can restore the document to its previous version using Google Docs version history. If you can reproduce it consistently, please share the document (or a cut down version where it's still reproducible) with support@zotero.org with a link to this thread and we'll take a look.
  • The same is happening with me, when I open a new document it works fine, although in the main text that I am working it simple delete 50 pages and insert the bibliography. Until today I was using the zotero 9 and it was running smooth, now with the update it simple does not work!

@soaresp.c: Same answers as above — both the troubleshooting steps and sharing the doc.
  • I am having the same issue. It was working fine the past few days, but suddenly it starts deleting text when I insert a citation.
  • Same answer.
  • Hello! I figured out my problem, apparently a collaborator copied some text from the References section and it was a simple word like "World Model" but somehow had the special Zotero link attached to it (so when you hover over the text in the body outside the References section, it says Edit with Zotero) and there was no number [12] or in-text citation (Person A et al.) attached to it. It was just some random words that had a Zotero special link.

I retyped over the "World Model" special link and tried to reinsert the citation and the deleting problem went away. So people might have a rogue hidden citation somewhere. I got help with Claude to look for the problematic citation which accessed my Google doc tab in the browser
