[Feature Request] Automatically create snapshots for synchronised web saves (Desktop)

As we all know, the web is constantly changing, what is available today may be gone tomorrow...

At the moment, the iOS app does not generate snapshots, while the Desktop apps do. This means that web saves created on iOS, even though they sync correctly to Desktop, end up without a snapshot that preserves the captured page!

It would be wonderful if the Zotero app on Desktop (macOS, Windows, Linux) could automatically create snapshots for any web saves that don’t already have one, effectively complementing the work of the iOS app and ensuring those pages are preserved.

If you don’t receive a response right away, give it time. If you’re having a serious issue and think your post may have slipped through the cracks, post a polite follow-up to the same thread asking if anyone has had a chance to look into your issue. Don’t create a new thread for the same issue, as it will likely just be deleted.
