Upgrade StorageObscure error when exporting some collections to Bibtex using the API

I am building a Zotero integration for another app using the web REST API. My app fetches all items in a collection as Bibtex. It works as expected most of the time, but some users have reported issues with specific collections: the Zotero API replies with a 500 error code, and a body that says "An error occurred".
Obtaining the same collection in the JSON format works fine. Given the vague error message, I can't really tell if something is wrong with the way I use the API, or if this is an actual bug on Zotero's side.
If needed, I can give more details in how I use the API (what exact query parameters and headers I use in particular). I can also share privately one of the failing collection ID, if that helps to understand the issue.

(But note that API questions should generally be posted to zotero-dev.)
But you can't export notes to BibLaTeX anyway. If you're using a bibliographic output format, you always want to use
/items/top.
