Group storage draws from the group owner, so it's doesn't really have anything to do with the group itself. We'll clarify the error message — it should really say "The group owner can increase their storage quota in their storage settings…". We may also be able to show a different message for the group owner.

In your case, you were already at an internal limit for unlimited accounts that's in place to prevent abuse, but we've increased it a bit for you.

First, the basics:
I have a library of books, journals, magazines, fanzines, and dissertations that I’ve collected over the course of decades. Most of these documents also have an electronic counterpart.

I’d like to manage them electronically, analyze them academically, and—in some cases—be able to access them from anywhere in the world to make use of them. Generally for my own use.

I also run a blog and use Zotero to populate it with reports and bibliographies from the library—based on these collected materials.

The data volume currently amounts to about 3–5 TB, depending on how you look at it and how it's used. Zotero is therefore an excellent tool for organizing this data.

To do this, I import the electronic documents and then create a parent entry under which the document is stored. I also immediately enter all newly collected documents into the database and add the electronic document. I store the former (so far) in “Groups,” and I edit the latter in “MyLibrary.” I don’t know if Zotero was designed for this kind of task, but it works very well for it …

First of all, it's hard to work when you don't know what storage capacity you have available.

I didn't know about the internal 1 TB limit and ran right into it, and even now I don't know by how much my storage capacity was increased. At least, I haven't found any instructions on this anywhere.

I’ve already hit the new limit again… and as I said, I don’t calculate in terms of 10 or 100 GB.
The linked files feature is good, but it doesn’t work for me. At least, I don’t think so…

I use a plugin that creates or uploads attachments by folder—not as linked files, but as stored files.

In any case, I’d have to edit each entry individually. I haven’t found a plugin yet that creates linked files when uploading entries by folder. Or do you know of one?
The best solution would be if you could exclude a specific portion of the data from synchronization.

With a thousand entries, that’s barely feasible. With 100,000 entries, it’s impossible.
There may also be a language barrier here, since I’m not a native English speaker and have to rely on machine translation for everything. I sometimes get the impression that the problem isn’t understood or hasn’t arisen yet.

Originally, “unlimited” was the key point. But if that’s not the case—for whatever reason—the question now is: how can this be handled?

Can you offer any suggestions?
