Groups Storage

Hello,
I have an unlimited account and am now seeing this message:

"The ‘Primary Literature’ group has reached its Zotero file storage limit. Some files were not uploaded. Other Zotero data continues to be synced to the server.

The group owner can increase the storage quota in the storage settings on zotero.org."

However, I can’t find an option to do this. Since I’m also the owner of this group, this surprises me.

Is there an explanation for this?

Best regards,
Tomas

  • OK, but there's no option to increase the storage for the group. And my account is already unlimited, right?
  • Group storage draws from the group owner, so it's doesn't really have anything to do with the group itself. We'll clarify the error message — it should really say "The group owner can increase their storage quota in their storage settings…". We may also be able to show a different message for the group owner.

In your case, you were already at an internal limit for unlimited accounts that's in place to prevent abuse, but we've increased it a bit for you.
  • Thanks,
but now the question is about the extent of the increase. I actually still have quite a bit to add to this group—probably around 300 GB. It’s really a backup for my library that I can access from anywhere and where I can restrict access if necessary.
Or, what would happen if I moved the group—which I set up for organizational purposes—to MyLibrary? Would the files be uploaded there as well?
However, the permissions there would be very broad and wouldn’t align with my intentions...
  • Oh no, sorry—there's actually quite a bit missing that wasn't uploaded. Probably around 500 GB in total…
