Google Docs: Only one citation can be inserted after restarting Zotero (9.0.6)

Hi,

I'm using Zotero 9.0.6 (64-bit) for Google Docs on Chrome in my
Windows computer.
After updating to Zotero 9.0.6, my existing Google Docs manuscript started behaving strangely. My existing manuscript (~28 pages) allows me to insert exactly one citation after restarting Zotero. The second citation always fails with:
"Zotero experienced an error updating your document."
After that, even Document Preferences gives:
"A word processor integration command is already running."

Things I've already tried:
- Restarting Zotero and Chrome
- Following the "Debugging Broken Documents" guide
- Making a copy of the document
- Reinstalling Zotero desktop
- Reinstalling the Zotero Connector
- Testing in Chrome Incognito
- Testing on a different browser (Microsoft Edge)
A blank Google Doc works normally, so the problem seems specific to this document. Also, this problem only occurs for inserting in-text citations, bibliographys worked as usual.

Zotero Debug ID: D796043747

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The debug log you've submitted doesn't show you successfully inserting an item after restart though? It just fails. Are you saying it works fine in a new document, the issue only occurs in your existing doc? Could you open the document where this is failing, place the cursor somewhere in the body of the text (not a citation), press Ctrl-K, take a screenshot (an insert-link dialog will appear) and post it here?
  • Hello,

I am having the same issue.

I can insert one citation, and then I get an error on the next one. Sometimes I get an error from Zotero itself saying a word processor integration command is already running. Sometimes I get an error in the browser saying zotero was unable to update my document. Which ever error I get, I will consistently get that error until I restart both Zotero and Chrome. Reinstalling Zotero did not seem to fix it.

Here's another log where I'm pretty sure I captured the whole thing:

I don't know if it's relevant, but when the chrome error message is the one that shows up, there's an option to go to troubleshooting help. That button doesn't work either.
