Classic View in Zotero 9

I'm having a problem changing the format of my in-text citation in the new Zotero 9. Previously, the classic view allowed me to do so by clicking the "Show Editor..." button, but now, I can't seem to find it. Is this feature now removed? I really need it for my APA 7th

Don't manually edit citations. Customize the citation:

(Documentation is for the earlier default citation plugin, but same idea.)

If there's something specific you're unsure how to do in the citation popup, provide a specific example.
  • Hello !!

I'm having the same issue as aleannchrizel, particularly regarding institutions and organizations with accronyms. In the APA 7th ed, when citing an organization also known by its accronym, the first citation must be develppped and include the accronym in brackets [ ] and all subsequent citations should contain only the accronym.

For example, with World Health Organization :
First citation (World Health Organization [WHO], 2026)
    Next citations (WHO, 2026)

--> Since it's now impossible to edit the citation without "unlink citations", it's a bit of a problem tbh... Is there an other solution ?

Thank you for your answers !!
  • The ability to edit citations has not changed. You didn't need to do this in the "editor" before the most recent change and you don't need to now. You can just edit directly in your word processor. Those changes will break updating of that specific citation (as they did with the editor), but won't unlink citations generally.
