In text formatting issues
Hi all,
Ever since updating to Zotero 8, I have experienced issues with the formatting of in-text citations. Specifically, Zotero no longer considers the format of the current text in which the citation is added, but rather appears to use the standard format of the file (domhelmlinger has mentioned the same issue in a previous post).
I just updated to Zotero 9 in the hope that the issue would be resolved, and weirdly enough it seems to be partially? Now, the in-text citation does follow the current text formatting in font size, but still not in the font itself.
Is there a way to change the "standard" font used by Zotero in-text citations? Preferably to "font now in use". I don't imagine it exists, but I do hope that this issue is completely resolved in the next update.

I noticed that the formatting “Normal (Web)” is used as the paragraph style instead of “Normal”.

I seem to have an issue that could be related to this thread. The inserted citations in the text do not follow the font defined in the "Normal" style of Microsoft Word.
I'm using Zotero 9.0.6 and Microsoft Word 2019 MSO (16.0.10417.20176) for Windows.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open a new Word document.
- Write some text with the "Normal" style and Calibri font.
- Insert a citation in the text (I use Chicago Manual of Style 17th ed., but the same happens with any other style).
- Change the font of the "Normal" style (by right-clicking it in the ribbon) to Times New Roman.
-The font of the rest of the text changes, but the citation font remains Calibri. Refreshing the bibliography or changing the citation style does not alter the font. Changing the default body font of the document doesn't help either.
In the "Reveal Formatting" pane, I see that although the Paragraph Style Font is TNR, the citation text has a "Direct Formatting" property set to "(Default) Calibri".

This issue only affects the citations in the text; the bibliography font updates properly. Furthermore, in the document I'm working on, some citations are affected while others (probably 2–6 months older) update correctly, so I assume this bug was introduced in a recent update. Could you help pinpoint the cause of this issue?
Thanks
