Hi,
1. I am have a hard time understanding how to go about both syncing my pre-existing zotero account with my desktop application on my new work computer. How do I do that if when I click on the "sync accounts" link in the desktop version of zotero, nothing happens. Here is a picture of the options I had selected.

2. I am not being successful at adding the zotero connector to my google chrome account despite having downloading it.

If you mean that you're clicking the sync button in the toolbar and nothing is happening, see Changes Not Syncing, and provide the requested info if you're still having trouble. See No Toolbar Button.
