I encourage OneNote users to experiment a little with the BetterNotes plugin in tandem with the PDF Reader and consider whether your research notes might be more powerful inside of Zotero. This YouTube video gave me a quickstart: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgiG-H4tjSI. I kept thinking, "Where was this when I was in grad school?" It's a great way to pull notes from various sources into a single line of thought (a Master Note)--compiling evidence to prove a point. When pulling from the PDF Reader, you can draw in the specific annotation you need.
I've also used it to create a template for a research plan, so I consistently answer the same set of questions.
I only miss one thing from OneNote...the ability to sort things in any order I want with drag and drop. A small price to pay--and maybe Zotero will add that capacity one day.
I would like that too. I imagine it like for example the connection between an Outlook contact and a OneNote page where you can switch from one to the other. Wow.
As far as i know, OneNote does not support the developer tools (VBA, ActiveX) like Word, Outlook and Excel do. Neither there are plugins like the word processor plugin from Zotero. What they have is a JavaScript-API, maybe one could build on that.
For the ZIM-Wiki i am using zotxt with BetterBbibTex, where i can create links zo Zotero entries. Maybe this could be a workaround.
