ReMarkably large upvote!! Would also be curious and grateful to hear from anyone who has set up a functional workflow to accomplish this in the meantime!
It seems at the moment. Ipad is the best alternative solution. I´m just holding my urge to get a large paper ink screen until this syncing issue is dealt. +1
Recently Boox has integrated the cloud drive directly into its reader (Neoreader). This has helped a lot. Now I just export using zotfile and then open through gdrive. All scribbles and annotations are preserved when the item is reuploaded from the tablet folder to its respective places.
I am also keen to be able to read and annotate pdfs stored in Zotero on my reMarkable without a lot of faff syncing and moving around copies. At the moment, I use my reMarkable as a notebook and only upload pdfs of texts I need to teach from. If the process were simpler, I would use it for all of my reading and would be more likely to upgrade to a 2.
would be nice to bring all the eink references in the other discussions into a single discussion. There are more an more eink options increasing the need for a connector between Zotero and eink readers, such as Remarkable and Boox - https://www.engadget.com/best-e-ink-tablet-130037939.html
It's pretty impressive, but still, it would be great to have an official app supporting the most popular Zotero features. My +1 is still for an official app working with one random e-reader. After PDF annotations, this would be the next relevant update.
How to promote this further? I think writing emails to Remarkable indicating a lot of interest in linking it to Zotero could push developers at Remarkable. Just like they did with the integration of Dropbox and Microsoft products.
Another plus one! I have written to ReMarkable and would encourage others to do so as well. Would also be interested in funding a sync. I'm most interested in being able to automatically sync my annotations from the Remarkable to Zotero
