I am looking for a database where employees of a German company can access various documents and edit (e.g. tagging) them. Zotero seems to make this possible. However, for privacy reasons (GDPR, especially after the ECJs “Schrems II”-judgement), we are not able to use the Zotero servers in any form, because they are hosted by AWS in the US. Data syncing (in contrast to file syncing) seems to necessarily always run on Zotero servers. Is it possible to run Zotero entirely on our own servers?
Alternatively we would be interested in an Zotero Server-Option on GDPR-compatible Servers based in Europe. Is there anything planned in this regard?
