Style Request: British Journal of Cancer (2020)

Zotero currently has British Journal of Cancer (2014-12-03 05:41:19), but a later version of the citation style has been released (2020-05-05). This style is available on Endnote at the following link (https://endnote.com/style_download/british-journal-of-cancer/).

British Journal of Cancer (https://www.nature.com/bjc/) ISSN 1532-1827 (online) ISSN 0007-0920 (print)

Note that the British Journal of Cancer actually recommends the Vancouver style format instead of the BJC style in the Guide to Authors (https://www.nature.com/bjc/authors-and-referees/gta). However, another journal Nature Modern Pathology have recently begun to require the new BJC style available in Endnote. It would be helpful if this style were also available in Zotero.

  • EndNote styles can not be used in Zotero.

    What are the errors/changes?
Then we can get a fix up much quicker.
  • Hello!
I have just been informed that Nature Modern Path will not be using the British Journal of Cancer (2020) style for much longer, as they are switching to another more widely used style, so that makes the main motivation for this request irrelevant.

I think it's ok to disregard this request. Sorry to waste your time!
  • Once you know which one, come back here and we'll create a dependent style.
  • I have already updated the BJC CSL code citation format with a new version on GitHub. You can copy and paste it into the Zotero editor for modification.
    https://github.com/MoRitian/Zotero-CSL.git
  • So BJC has switched to use nature-publishing-group-vancouver.csl?

We'd want that on the style repository for all users to use, not just a few people that find their way to this thread. As I had mentioned above I was waiting for someone to tell us which style they had chosen.
  • No, BJC has not officially switched to using the nature-publishing-group-vancouver.csl style.

I have made adjustments to the original nature-publishing-group-vancouver.csl based on the latest BJC author guidelines to achieve the most suitable formatting according to BJC requirements.

However, I don't believe it is appropriate to update the style repository with this modified style since it is not officially designated by BJC. Nevertheless, it can be offered as an option for certain authors who may find it useful.
  • Thank you for clarifying.
We'll wait to hear back from a user then.

I checked and none of our Nature styles fits the bill.
