Citation Style help - HortScience

Hi,
I'm new to all of this and have recently figured out how to do all the basics. I got the HortScience Citation Style from the repository and have used it successfully but noticed the citation style in the text doesn't use a comma between the author and date. I believe it is supposed to have a comma.

From their Style guide:
ASHS style for listing literature citations is the Harvard system, with the last
name(s) of the author(s) and the year of the publication cited in the text.

Example: Previous studies made use of a chloral hydrate-acid fuchsin staining system that requires several days to complete (Latham and Rushing, 1988; Yates et al., 1996).

It is a little confusing as it doesn't mention a comma, but it is clearly used in the examples.

Is there a way to fix this? I know there is a way to manually edit it but I don't know how. I think I have to download the style somehow first? That is where I got stuck...

Thanks!

Emily
