DOI not found after copy/paste

    Example DOI: https://doi.org/10.1007/s00170-019-04916-3
    Copied from: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00170-019-04916-3#citeas

I am facing a similar issue. I suspect a problem with the hyphens. If I type in the DOI manually, Zotero finds and adds the entry. But copy/pasting it from Springer fails. So my guess is there are some similar looking symbols that are not correctly converted to standard ascii.

HTTP GET https://doi.org/10.1007%2Fs00170-019-04916-3 failed with status code 504

That was just a 504 Gateway Timeout error from doi.org. It's working fine for me at the moment. There's no problem with the hyphens.
  • That's odd. It seemed consistent with manual typing and accessing the DOI from the command line but now I do in fact get occasional 504's from the URL. So I agree it has nothing to do with Zotero.
    Thank you.
