Zotero Standalone opening PDFs in Adobe Acrobat instead of my computer default

Even though I have preview set as my default PDF viewer on my mac, Zotero always opens PDFs in Adobe Acrobat, which is an application I LOATHE. Everything I can find says that Zotero should be routing through my computer's default and I cannot figure out how to fix this. Please help!

    The default is to use your system default, but if that's not getting you the application you want, you can set it explicitly in Preferences > General > "Open PDFs using"

    Thank you too. In Zotero 6.0 the default changed to "Zotero PDF Reader", so I switched the setting back to Adobe Acrobat Reader, with the the option presented here.
