Thank you!
  • Please have a look at the guidelines you followed and add the exact examples that were pointed out there. If your post doens't contain the words Campbell or Mares it's wrong. ;)

  • I'm sorry for my mistake, now I hope I have understood correctly.

    In-text citation:

    (Campbell, 2007)

    (Mares, 2001)

    Bibliography:
    Campbell 2007 = John L. Campbell, Ove K. Pedersen, The varieties of capitalism and hybrid success, «Comparative Political Studies», 40 (2007), 3, p. 307-332.

Mares 2001 = Isabela Mares, Firms and the welfare state: when, why, and how does social policy matter to employers?, in Varieties of capitalism. The institutional foundations of comparative advantage, a cura di Peter A. Hall e David Soskice, New York, Oxford University Press, 2001, p. 184-213.

    Thank you very much!
  • Thanks, what a fantastic job!

I would ask you for three changes if possible:
    1) to separate the surnames of the authors / editors after the = with commas , and not with hyphens -

    2) As for the magazines, I kindly ask you to indicate the volume of the year in Arabic numerals instead of Roman numerals, for example: 9 (2010) and not IX (2010) and insert the title of the journals between « » and not between “ ”.

    Thank you very much!
  • Hi,

    1) Unfortunately the guidelines don't show an example with several authors (feedback to the editors), so I went by the published article where they give this example:
"Pollard-Ehrman 1965 = Graham Pollard - Albert Ehrman, The distribution of books by catalogue from inventing of printing to A.D. 1800 based on material in the Broxbourne Library, Cambridge, 1965."

    2) I went by the guidelines where they give these example:
    "Ugo Rozzo, L’Advis di Gabriel Naudé e la nascita della biblioteconomia, «La Bibliofilia», XCVII (1995), 1, p. 59-74.
Paolo Traniello, La storia delle biblioteche: spunti per un’analisi critica, «Nuovi Annali della Scuola speciale per archivisti e bibliotecari», XX (2006), p. 271-289."

Please, could you clarify with the editors what they want?
  • You are absolutely right: the guidelines do not explain all the examples well and I will have them updated as soon as possible, even with the inclusion of the style in Zotero you are creating.
You can take as an example the bibliography of this article, which is the correct one: https://bibliothecae.unibo.it/article/view/12004/12241

    Journals volumes:
The volumes of scientific journals are expressed in Roman numerals only in the rare times that the journal cited uses Roman numerals, but in general Arabic numerals are used.
    In general we find this:

Feliciati 2016 = Pierluigi Feliciati, L’usabilità degli ambienti bibliotecari e archivistici digitali come requisito di qualità, contesto, modelli e strumenti di valutazione, «JLIS.it» 7 (2016), 1, p. 113-130.

Floridi 2010 = Luciano Floridi, Information. A very short introduction, Oxford, Oxford University Press, 2010.Francese 2015 = Enrico Francese, Test di usabilità sul discovery tool “Primo” all’Università di Torino, «Biblioteche oggi» 31 (2015), 10, p. 10-17.

but in rare cases we also find this:

Traniello 2006 = Paolo Traniello, La storia delle biblioteche: spunti per un’analisi critica, «Nuovi Annali della Scuola speciale per archivisti e bibliotecari», XX (2006), p. 271-289.

If I had to choose, the first is better, with the Arabic numerals being more frequent.

    Authors:
As you can see in the example, even if the authors are more than one, only a name with the year must be put before the =, after the = all the names must be inserted, separated by commas.

Guerrini 2018 = Mauro Guerrini, Lucia Sardo, IFLA Library Reference Model (LRM).

Marchitelli 2012 = Andrea Marchitelli, Giovanna Frigimelica, OPAC, Roma, AIB. 2012.

    Thanks for your great patience,
    Alessandra

(Adamsmith, I've added the brackets around "et al.", but they don't appear. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?)
  • Thanks, you have solved the problem of volumes in Arabic numbers and the comma between the authors: perfect!
If possible you could complete with:
    1) « » for journals titles
    2) delete "et al." before the =
3)"edited by" should become "a cura di" and you should insert the comma instead of the dash between the editors, for example:

    Now is:

    and instead it should be:

Armocida 2020 = Daniela Armocida, Luigia Cecere, L’Archivio di Sergio Lenci presso la Biblioteca centrale della Facoltà di Architettura dell’Università di Roma La Sapienza, in Storie d’autore, storie di persone : fondi speciali tra conservazione e valorizzazione, a cura di Francesca Ghersetti, Annantonia Martorano, Elisabetta Zonca, Roma, Associazione italiana biblioteche, 2020, p. 145–150.

    Grazie!

I've switched the style to italian language, as it makes a few things easier. It might bring some new problems though, so have a look.

Re the et-al, I am actually not sure I can achieve that in any way.

@adamsmith or @bwiernik, is there any way/hack to suppress et al. for the author-citation macro, but do show it for the responsibility macro?

    https://raw.githubusercontent.com/citation-style-language/styles/8e0ab91365fa87320dc6fae8892306169f3b0f7e/bibliothecae-it.csl
  • It is perfect, congratulations! I am very grateful to you for the excellent work. You could just delete "et al." , if it is possible, but it is already an excellent result. Thank you!
  • @damnation, so you still need et-al abbreviation, but no "et al." term? You might be able to use different terms in the two macros: "et-al" for "responsibility", and "and others" for the "author-citation" macro. Then redefine the "and others" term as an empty string (<term name="and others"></term>). See also https://docs.citationstyles.org/en/1.0.1/specification.html#et-al.
  • I tried the citation style - it's perfect, it can be released, thanks!
  • @"Alessandra Boccone", do you know if the journal publishes both in Italian and English? The examples at https://bibliothecae.unibo.it/about/submissions#authorGuidelines are in a mix of Italian and English, so I assume this is the case?

(the first example for "Article in a book" curiously seems to contain both English and Italian: "edited by Alberto Petrucciani e Paolo Traniello")
  • The journal also has articles in other languages, but it is a rather rare event: more than 90% of the articles are published in Italian.
  • Okay, thanks. I'll just add the style to the repository as an Italian-only style then, at least for now.

The alternative is to make it a 'polyglot' style without a fixed locale that can be used in multiple languages, but in that case users will always need to choose the desired locale, and the style will likely need some extra work to perform correctly in other languages.
  • Thank you very much!
  • Hello! I saw that the citational style of Bibliothecae.it does not insert the DOIs of the articles in the final bibliography, it is possible to add them?
There is also a serious error in the bibliography: Zotero has 'zeroed' the references with two or more authors, contrary to what the journal has indicated, so it is necessary to intervene on every single wrong reference and also in the final bibliography.
Could these defects be resolved? Thank you very much
  • Where do you see that DOIs should be included?
    https://bibliothecae.unibo.it/about/submissions#authorGuidelines

Your second issue I don't fully understand. What do you mean by "zeroed"?
Please give an example as "current" vs "wanted" output.
