Zotfile - extract PDF annotation - Can't find zotfile.pdfExtraction.openPdfMac_skim
Hello there,
So I have installed the extension Zotfiles on my Mac, and was trying to configure it so I could use Skim as the default PDF reader. The extension documentation talks about a Hidden Option one can set to "True" in order to make this happen, but when I go on Zotero -> Preferences->Advanced as per the instructions I can't find the hidden option "zotfile.pdfExtraction.openPdfMac_skim" in about:config. I see a bunch of other zotfile hidden options, but there is no zotfile.pdfExtraction.openPdf* anywhere. Anyone else has had this issue?

But if you do want to get this going in Zotfile, you might need to create that preferences: right-click in the config editor, select new, Boolean, and use
extensions.zotfile.pdfExtraction.openPdfMac_skimas the preferences name.@caroline.dault: You should be able to specify Skim as a custom viewer directly in Zotero: "Edit" -> "Preferences" -> "General" -> "Open PDFs using" -> "Custom...". Skim should then be able to open 'zotero://open-pdf' links at a given page.
But I agree with adamsmith, you might be better off with Zotero's new PDF reader.
