Zotero Standalone
I just got a new computer and keep getting a "file is corrupt" message when trying to download either v4 or v5 of the standalone. Any thoughts? I have tried via Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.
Love the standalone.
Love the standalone.
If that's what you're doing, when are you getting the error message and what exactly does it say?
You'll have to figure out what on your system is causing this — that's not something we'd have any way of helping with.
Ignore Zotero 4.0 — that's over three years old and not something you want to be running.
Again, if you show us a screenshot we might be able to say more.
You shouldn't be running anything in "compatibility mode". Zotero works perfectly fine with Windows 10.
@dstillman, "I mean, Zotero obviously works for the vast majority of people, so by definition it's something on your computer that's different from everyone else's."
That is word for word what I said to both guys from Dell. And they, of course, said the opposite.
I just straight up tried to run in from the download the first 14 times.
We've had two reports of this, ever, 10 years ago:
https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/19959/zotero-windows-standalone-desktop-v-3-0-corrupted/p1
https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/20591/standalone-cant-install-on-windows-7/p1
They were both caused by some sort of download problem on the users' computers and fixed by redownloading.
Very annoying and time consuming
What ever browser I use to down load I keep being told that zotero is corrupt.
