can not use the launcher to open the zotero in linux

I have followed the installation instruction to put zotero to the lauancher in linux system. However, after that, I click the icon. It does not work. So does anyone have the same problem and help me solve it?

Do you see any error message if you launch Zotero from a terminal? Does your launcher points to the right executable?

I can use the terminal to launch Zotero, but clicking the icon on the desktop doesn't work without any error message.

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/retorquere/zotero-jurism-ppa/master/install-zotero.py will download Zotero and create the desktop file for you.

I am having the same issue. I followed all the instructions (https://www.zotero.org/support/installation), but clicking the icon does nothing (no error messages). If I navigate to to the directory where zotero is installed, it opens fine from there. I am using linux mint (4.15.0-64-generic GNU/Linux).

I posted some notes here on setting up Ubuntu launcher properties. Should apply to Mint. Just change the paths to zotero installation.
