[CSL STYLE ERROR: reference with no printed form.].

  • It looks like I fixed it, but I don't really know how I did it. Somehow the add-on for Microsoft Word got uninstalled, so I reinstalled it. I also went to the webpage I was trying to cite using Firefox and had Zotero create a webpage item from it. Before this, I had just entered the webpage details manually into a new item rather than having Zotero create it right from Firefox. I hope this makes sense. It's a little hard to explain. For some reason, entering the information into a new item gave me that error while using the Firefox add-on to create it worked.
  • I have the same problem with Springer stles from Zotero's style page.
    Springer basic (Author date, no et al,) Springer basic (Author date) and a few othe springer basics produce this error for some of the references.
    The references are journal articles and are listed properly in the bibliography section but when cited, produce this error ([CSL STYLE ERROR: reference with no printed form.]).
  • In my case I found what was wrong. I had saved the references using the older zotero Firefox plugin and it had created a zotero entry that had ALL of the reference information packed in the "title" entry. That's what was causing the error. I had to delete these old entries, add them again from firefox and cite them again and and boom, it solved the problem!
  • Facing the same issue using springer basic only for the webpage references. Using chrome extension. Any solution?

    This behavior has been fixed some time ago. What specific version of the Zotero app are you running? It should be 5.0.43.

    Hi all,

    I have the same problem.

    I have used this reference
    https://insights.ovid.com/medicine-science-sports-exercise/mespex/2010/09/000/joint-specific-power-loss-eccentric-exercise/15/00005768

    and this style
    https://editor.citationstyles.org/styleInfo/?styleId=http://www.zotero.org/styles/european-journal-of-applied-physiology

    I am using Zotero 5.0.74 on Windows 7, on MS Word 2013. Funilly enough in a new document it inputs the citation just fine... That's weird

    @adamsmith please advise

    Thank you

    EDIT: Funnilly enough, simply restarting word with the document fixed the problem.... all good
