I have Zotero open, and when I try to use Word (Version 16.23), I always get the message: "Word could not communicate with Zotero. Please ensure that Zotero is open and try again." I've tried reinstalling the plug-in, deleting it manually and installing it again, not sure what else to do.

    And if you go to Tools → Add-ons → Extensions in Zotero, the Word integration plugin shows as enabled? (It looks like it is from your report.)

    Have you tried restarting your computer?
  • Yeah, it kept showing as enabled. I haven't tried restarting it yet, but I'll give that a shot, thanks!

    @dstillman it worked, thanks! Out of curiosity, would you happen to know why or is it just one of those 'shrug your shoulders and restart to get it to work' moments?
