Footnote numbering - Chicago 16 style and Microsoft Word 2003

They are raised and are missing the period afterwards, instead of being on the same level as the rest of the text with a period. Is there something that I have missed in being able to make the numbers appear correctly in my documents?
  • formatting of footnote characters is a Word setting (though IIRC one that's surprisingly hard to change). It's not something that Zotero can influence.

(In manuscripts, superscripted numbers in both places—the typical default setting in the note-making feature of a word processor—are perfectly acceptable.)
