Pop-Up Dialogue Windows are Completely Blank (Mac OS)

Any time Zotero tries to pop-up a dialogue window--say, for example, to confirm deletion of an entry--the dialogue window is blank.

If I know where to click on the blank window (like for "accept" or "cancel," it's still functional but it's blank.

This came up on the forum after Big Sur-era updates https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/92494/pop-up-windows-still-blank-macos-big-sur-11-6 , but I'm not seeing anything more recent on the topic.

I tried restarting, then app-cleaning with reinstalling Zotero (and restarting) and also removing all add-ons, and the problem persists. It's working fine on my other computer.

    I just tried installing the Beta Zotero and the problem persists.

    Yeah, this happened in the Big Sur betas but was fixed before the release.

    Can you test in another macOS user account?

    @teob: Also, did this just start, or did you just starting using Zotero on this computer? Does this happen in Zotero 6.0.9?

    It does NOT happen with a different macOS user account. Everything looks normal with a different user.

    It started recently (within the last 5-6 weeks or so. I'm not sure if it started with a specific version because I use auto-updated.

    I just tried it on Zotero 6.0.9 and still get the blank windows.

    If it happens in 6.0.9 too then it wasn't a Zotero update. You can switch back to 6.0.11.

    So it's something in your current macOS user account.

    Are you using Dark Mode on your computer? Have you previously run any sort of third-party utility that affects Dark Mode?

    Try closing Zotero, opening Terminal (via Spotlight), pasting in this command, and pressing Return:

    defaults delete -g NSRequiresAquaSystemAppearance
