I write a plugin to avoid closing Zotero. https://github.com/yhmtsai/KeepZotero Although it can not minimize Zotero into System Tray, it makes the close as the minimization. i.e when you hit the close button or use alt+F4/ctrl+w, it just make Zotero minimization. Thus, you will not close Zotero
yhmtsai, I really fail to see where is the .xpi file in the repository. Which one is it? I only see .rdf files, which Zotero Add-On fails to recognize.
Current workaround is to use Traymond. Super simple and works for Zotero 7. You just have to run Traymond, then whenever you hit Win+Shift+Z while focused on Zotero it will close to the tray.
You can run Traymond automatically when your computer starts up using Task Scheduler so you don't have to worry about running it. This is probably the best solution right now until something native is instituted.

Which gives you access to the xpi
