Editing highlights from external PDF editor

I was using an external PDF editor but with 6.0 I changed to Zotero since it is much easier to find papers and read them in a single app (I love the pdf reader by the way! Thank you for your efforts). I only have a small problem. Zotero PDF reader recognizes highlights made in external PDF reader (you can click on highlights) but does not allow me to edit them and says it's read-only. Is there any way to edit those highlights?

and specifically the heading, "Interacting with Embedded Annotations". Explains how to transfer read-only external annotations, and make them editable via import.
