visualized and searchable annotations

I'm excited to see Zotero beta having build-in pdf reader and annotation tools. I've imported all the data from Mendeley to Zotero. However, while I can see the general notes in the right panel and search them, annotations are invisible unless I open a pdf. Even in a pdf, annotaitons are not searchable too. Those functions are available in Mendeley, which means that they are technically possible.

Yes they are. You can filter a PDF's annotations in the left-hand sidebar. It will be possible to search for items by annotation comments in the library view in a later version.

I'm not aware of any way to search for annotations in Mendeley, either while viewing a PDF or in the library view, so I'm not sure what you're referring to there.

Where is this built-in PDF reader? My Zotero just opens the PDF in adobe automatically...

Curious- is the later version making annotations visible/searchable in the global search bar of the library is available yet?

I'm also curious about progress on this! One feature that would be really useful here would be the ability to search by annotation color.

@bobbybobbyjones: Annotations don't yet show up in the middle pane, but you can search for annotation tags and annotation text ("Everything" search mode) and it will show the matching attachments.

@fredcallaway: You can filter annotations by color in the sidebar of the PDF reader. It's not currently possible to search for annotations by color from the library view.

[Zotero-style](https://github.com/MuiseDestiny/zotero-style/releases) provides the ability to [preview annotations](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/51939531/235824579-306afbaa-a488-42bb-863d-3bb754fc2625.png) in the right sidebar (as well as many other practical features), but it is not yet possible to directly search for annotations unless entered into PDF reader.

On the left sidebar under show annotations, you can filter annotations by their colors and tags, what about filter by type? am i able to filter only underlined ones?
