Selecting Tags from the Chrome extension without creating duplicates?
The Zotero addon allows you to add tags from the browser, which is great. But while the Zotero standalone helps me to select the right tag by prompting a popup window with the tags that start with the letters I typed, the chrome addon does not do this.
This is a problem, because I have several tags to keep track of and I'm not always sure of how I spelt every single tag. For instance: was it "documentary" or "documentaries"? With a capital D or not? Every time I make a mistake, a new tag is created, messing up my library: where only a tag was meant to be, now there are two. To complicate matters even more, by definition I don't know when I make a mistake, so that erroneous tags slowly accumulate until I spot them in the standalone app.
Assuming that most users, like me, don't have an infallible mental map of all the tags that they use, I assume that I am not the only one to experience this problem. Am I using the addon incorrectly? If not, is there a solution or a workaround?
